Selective Service is NOT a Draft. It’s the same selective service that has been law for years on end. The only difference now is that your auto signed up instead of having to go sign up at a physical location. Nothing else has changed. Nothing except how you are signed up.

I read today that overturning Roe gives lawyers an opening to argue that if old rights can be reconsidered, old government powers like the draft should be reconsidered too.

18 year old men have been registering for the draft since 1917. The government is now doing it for you so you aren’t required to go to county office to register. Only change is the government now knows where you are. My question is why women aren’t required to register?

By federal law, all males turning 18 must register for the draft anyway; coming this December, the Selective Services will do it automatically. I had served during the last years of the Cold War and after the Gulf War from 87' to 95' in the US Army. Conscription is 18 to 43, FYI

Big difference between a registration reminder card and THIS. Automatic draft registration was signed into law Dec 2025. Govt now registers you without your consent. Unfortunately, here is the new age agenda playing out.

Registering for selective service began in 1917 and if you are 18 and a male you are required to register. At this time there isn't a draft. The military is all volunteers. Nothing new except that now it will change from manual registration to auto registration.
