When it comes to data centers, Michigan should show the country how to do it right. That means: Data center companies, not Michigan families, pay for their own energy and grid upgrades – so rates don't go up. Data centers can't harm our water, air, or environment. Data centers pay their fair share in taxes to fund our schools, roads, and communities. Data centers are built with local union labor.

When it comes to data centers, Michigan should show the country how to do it right. We just found out that Ken Paxton, the most corrupt politician in Texas, has taken nearly half a million dollars from data center companies. That explains why as Attorney General, Ken Paxton ignored our neighbors in Hood County after they asked him to help temporarily block the construction of a data center in their community. Texans cannot afford a senator who's bought by big data centers. In the Senate, I will fight to stop data centers from being built in our communities if they cannot meet the most basic demands of those communities.
