Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) questioned Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Tuesday about whether he had been unaware of the possibility of the Strait of Hormuz closing amid a conflict with Iran. The strait was “front and center” in every aspect of the department’s planning, Hegseth said while testifying before the Senate Appropriations Committee.
