Unbeknownst to him, his phone extraction, which was ordered in August of 2025, was successful back to the year of 2013. Trooper Proctor thought that he was safe. That his communications regarding topics like Karen Read, the John O'Keefe murder investigation, his job suspension and firing, and other important cases in the county were auto-deleted from his phone. He was so confident that he did several national interviews proclaiming his innocence. That calling Read vulgar names was a joke.. a figure of speech. He never thought that his phone extraction would pull over a decades worth of data which might show his communications regarding the John O'Keefe murder was not a one-off situation but rather a pattern. It's been speculated that it was the norm to specifically look for images of women. That they made the rounds of the various group chats. Was this true and did it affect the cases of Karen Read, Sandra Birchmore, or Ana Walshe? But no.. no.. according to Proctor, the Read extractions were a lapse in judgement. A one time occurrence.

When asked if he would do anything differently, he does not mention his time as a DA. Instead, he says he would change things he did prior to becoming DA. In most states, agencies like the State Police remain fully independent from the District Attorney’s Office and only collaborate with prosecutors on a case-by-case basis. By contrast, in Norfolk County, State Police detectives are formally embedded within the DA’s office and work under the DA’s direction on a daily basis. Michael Proctor is not only a complete and utter failure as a moral and ethical human being. He is an indictment of the Massachusetts State Police. AND he is a reflection of the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, one that can only be corrected with a complete overhaul in leadership. ADAM DEITCH FOR DA 🇺🇸

NEW: The Proctorgate files continue to expand to SnapChat, and Michael Proctor's lawyer accused Karen Read's legal team of engaging in "defamation" by revealing Proctor and Sean Goode's horrifying text messages in a court filing last week, during a hearing before Judge Doolin Thursday on the Myles King docket in Norfolk Superior Court. Proctor's lawyer, during the hearing, argued that Proctor's Snapchat and text messages should not be made public. That resulted in this reporter saying, in real time; Wait, Michael Proctor had a Snapchat!?!?! Proctor's lawyer then referenced Karen's case filed last week in Bristol county (Proctorgate). Proctor's lawyer says he realizes the cat is out of the bad but implores Judge that we are talking about "Michael Proctor's privacy, who has spent years helping victims. He has never been indicted. He has never been arrested. He has never had his bail revoked. I would suggest Proctor has a legitimate privacy interest in these Snapchat messages." Proctor's lawyer wants the Norfolk D.A. to orally tell the defendants about Proctor's Snapchat messages. Proctor's lawyer then told Judge Doolin that Karen's lawsuit involving the Proctorgate files was intended to defame and embarrass Michael Proctor and, in turn, Proctor's lawyer asks Judge Doolin to keep Proctor's Snapchat messages public. Those were Proctor's own words (I said out loud). Rosemary Scapichhhio, the lawyer for Myles King, then said that Proctor has no standing in this case. Proctor is just an agent of the Commonwealth, says Scapichhhio, and it makes no sense to keep this material sealed when the Proctorgate messages are already starting to come out into the public. Boom! Trooper John Fanning just took the stand at the Dr. Ingolf Tuerk murder trial & confirmed that his current job assignment includes nothing related to courthouse security or jury supervision. So, again, I ask: What was a homicide detective—who was disgraced ex-Trooper Michael Proctor’s supervisor and actively participated in Officer John O’Keefe’s murder investigation—doing commanding the “extensive security operations that this case has required” at the courthouse, with close proximity to and apparent indirect contact with the jury in #KarenRead’s case? Fanning himself just testified about his background and role as a detective at the Norfolk County DA’s Office State Police Detective Unit (SPDU)—and at no point did he mention anything about commanding trial courthouse security for the trials of prosecutions he’s involved in. Furthermore, nowhere on the Norfolk County DA’s website SPDU section (see in prior tweet attached below) is there any mention whatsoever about their detectives having any involvement in operating courthouse security for cases they’re involved in. Aside from the obvious conflict of interest of the prosecution’s own detectives having any involvement with the courthouse security for cases they’re prosecuting, it simply makes no sense that courthouse security would be sourced from the limited and specialized resources of the homicide unit, when there are thousands of MSP Troopers that don’t work at DA’s Offices in their detective units. In a recent interview, Colonel Nobel of the Massachusetts State Police stated that public trust was compromised by Michael Proctor on a "personal level" and not on a "operational level". Let me be so ever-living clear about this: those of us in the state (and especially in Norfolk County) overwhelmingly do not have trust in the state police. The conversations I've had with the women in my life who are afraid of being around state police. My non-white friends who are nervous when they see a state cruiser. One of my black friends said that he "always makes sure his hands are on 10 and 2 when around staties". That we can't trust the cops to not treat innocent individuals with dignity or transparency. This isn't personal. This is systemic. It wasn't just the Karen Read trial. It was the investigation of the murder of John O'Keefe. Of Sandra Birchmore. Of Ana Walshe. When the system quietly disciplines officers like Buhkenik, Tully and DiCiccio. When the system promotes an officer like Kotkowski. When the system protects an officer like Fanning. When the system fights for the rights of Proctor.. this is why we don't trust you operationally. It's not over some taillight or texts, it's the community seeing the behavioral patterns as a whole. It should not take criminal activity by one officer, and a failed public relations campaign, for a colonel to recognize (and change) this.

Prosecutors, including the Norfolk County DA’s Office, do not need the physical cellphone once they have an extraction, or forensic image, of said phone, with the exception being cases in which a cellphone was physically used in the commission of said crime (not applicable here). In fact, the Norfolk County DA’s Office extracted and returned accused murderer Brian Walshe’s cellphone + devices within less than 24 hours. They didn’t hold them hostage for years. Nonetheless, as Karen Read and her team are inevitably building up her Section 1983 case against the Norfolk County DA’s Office, State Police and others—something which the Norfolk County DA’s Office is surely anticipatory of—evidence of investigators deleting or destroying Brady evidence, like Karen’s cellphone GPS data, of course would be paramount. Given that this same DA’s Office does not hold cellphones hostage from defendants in its other cases, their refusal to turn over Karen Read’s property back to her, especially after she’s been acquitted, certainly raises suspicion. #KarenRead

A serious question the citizens of Norfolk County should be asking: Why are Karen Read, her DAD, her PR team, and her lawyers pushing so aggressively for Adam Deitch for District Attorney? Not one of them lives in Norfolk County. More importantly—on what basis are they claiming he’s “the best” person for this job? Do they actually know him? What prior connection exists? And were there any interactions during the trial that the public hasn’t been told about? ARCCA testified under oath that the sequestration order was violated with them by someone within the DOJ. The obvious question is: who? What is known is that Deitch reviewed the John O’Keefe case and it was closed without finding evidence of corruption OR conspiracy. Why is he so aligned now with the defense’s narrative and why are they promoting him so heavily. At the very least, the public deserves transparency. If he were to take over the DA’s office, many people should be concerned about whether there would be a full, review of issues like the contents of Karen Read’s phones and alleged witness intimidation connected to Karen Read and anyone else on her team. These aren’t accusations—these are questions our community is entitled to ask.

Michael fucking Morrissey For the first time since Karen Read's acquittal, the Norfolk County District Attorney makes a public appearance (outside of his favorite watering holes that serve his favorite Barcardi martinis) to speak on the Brian Walshe guilty verdict. In no surprise, he dodges accountability for any of his offices' actions in regards to the murder investigation of John O'Keefe - even doubling down alluding that Read's acquittal was a "loss". 🤯 He also states that his focus is always on the victims but mind you this is the same DA that refuses to further investigate the murder of Sandra Birchmore or change her case from suicide to murder.. something that Federal Investigators disagree with and have since arrested Matthew Farwell. Tripling down, in regards to his lack of public statements since this past spring, he states that he CAN'T SPEAK because he is "not a politician anymore", that he "doesn't want to affect the jury pool" and essentially states that not his job anymore??? Affect a jury pool of what case? Because the main cases he refuses to speak on will have no future jury because of his incompetence to investigate globally known murder cases in his own county. No mention of John O'Keefe. No mention of Sandra Birchmore. For anyone running for Morrissey's position let me say this: You MUST acknowledge these cases. You MUST campaign with how you intend to clean up this office. You cannot avoid the inevitable truth that the public perception is not "perceived" but rather fact. We do not trust the office. It will take time and re-opening of the O'Keefe and Birchmore cases for anyone to begin to trust DA's office again.

Michael fucking Morrissey For the first time since Karen Read's acquittal, the Norfolk County District Attorney makes a public appearance (outside of his favorite watering holes that serve his favorite Barcardi martinis) to speak on the Brian Walshe guilty verdict. A man who says he was the person of interest being questioned in the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie has been released. The man, who only wants to be identified as Carlos, said he was detained after a traffic stop. Carlos said he was shocked when he was pulled over and didn't know who Guthrie is. "I'm innocent," he said, adding that he hopes the suspect is found soon so his name could be cleared. Authorities haven't confirmed that Carlos was the person of interest or that the person of interest has been released. CBS News has reached out to the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the FBI about Carlos.
