Seriously… what the heck did I stumble upon here? Heard this today while driving to MO and saved it. This is 1973. And the 80s, 90s and beyond get thrown a lot of shade.

@Hot_Pepper76 This was a show at UMass. They had decided to forego the giant concert at the football stadium for a “series” on a lawn. I think they were 45 minute sets for several days. I really wanted to see Taj Mahal but missed it somehow.

Todd Rundgren is one of my favorite artists of all time. The song was on Something\Anything, his double album masterpiece, and one of the first albums I ever purchased. He’s probably best known as the producer of the Meat Loaf album, Bat out of Hell. He was inducted into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame a few years back.

Todd Rundgren made some very good music, and has an innovative mind. He headlined a concert of contemporary psychedelic bands about a dozen years ago here in Austin. For this song, his most famous one, he arranged it in a more upbeat mood, almost like a lounge song by Frank Sinatra. It was unexpected and really fantastic.

The 70's was the golden era of AM radio rock. You could be a kid living in bumfuck nowhere and still listen to major city stations. My mom said she would easily pull WLS-AM (Top 40) in Chicago from 350 miles away. Part of the shared culture we lost.

lol Todd Rundran, sometime singers played dress up. You can check out Elton John, he did it too and Culture Club in the early 80s, Alice Cooper and David Bowie. But we weren't lectured about it and told we had to accept it or else. We could like it or not, no consequences. And it was fine

That's Tod Rundgren. I saw him open for Kansas with his band Utopia back in 1977 at Alpine Vally outdoor music theater near East Troy Wisconsin.

Todd is the pride of Upper Darby PA. He raised Liv Tyler as his own before she knew Steven Tyler was her bio dad but Todd is her dad that raised her. He's insanely talented but this video will forever creep me out ... why Todd ... why 😂

You really MUST listen to Something/Anything. It's sweet, it's bizarre, and nothing like we had ever heard before.
