This is what it looks like when a train is forced to push through an active wildfire zone. Footage from train engineers near Armstrong, Ontario — the same area under evacuation orders right now. The sky is blood orange. Flames are visible outside the windows. One engineer says: “We’re encased in flames now.” Another: “This is getting a little scary.” These crews are trying to keep critical rail lines moving while the forest burns on both sides of the tracks. This is northwestern Ontario in July 2026. And while Canadian infrastructure and workers are literally surrounded by fire, our government keeps writing billion-dollar cheques to the same foreign countries on repeat — money that will take generations to recover, if it ever does. Where are the water bombers? Where is the serious investment in forest management and rapid response? Where is the priority on actually protecting Canadian land, Canadian communities, and Canadian workers? They have endless money for everyone else. But when our own forests are burning and our own people are in the middle of it? We get the same old story: underfunded resources, slow response, and politicians who treat domestic disasters like an afterthought. This isn’t just bad luck with the weather. This is what happens when a government stops putting Canada first.

The City of Bulawayo on Wednesday commissioned four refuse compactors at a cost of US$602,400 as it reaffirms its commitment to restoring Bulawayo to its past glory of a clean city. Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, His Worship Senator David Coltart, the Mayor, described the commissioning as a milestone in the City's ongoing efforts to enhance service delivery through creating a clean environment. He said while some people might view the commissioning of the four refuse compactors as insignificant, it was an important part of the City’s rebuilding efforts. Senator Coltart said the commissioning comes at an important time as the city has to showcase its pride when it hosts the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair later this month. The City of Bulawayo currently operates a fleet of 16 refuse compactor trucks of which 44 percent of these vehicles have exceeded their economic lifespan, making them inefficient and costly to maintain. Recognizing this challenge, the city has resolved to systematically replace obsolete refuse collection trucks to improve service delivery to our residents. For Bulawayo to achieve an efficient and sustainable refuse collection services, an additional 17 refuse compactor trucks are required. The Deputy Mayor Councillor Edwin Ndlovu, other Councillors, senior management led by Town Clerk Mr Christopher Dube and other staff members attended the commissioning of the vehicles.

The only formula for Armenian survival is balance: between East and West, Russia and Europe, Russia and NATO, while preserving Iran as Armenia’s friendliest and most vital neighbor. If Armenia antagonizes Russia or Iran, who will defend it when Azerbaijan threatens Syunik, speaks of “Western Azerbaijan,” and prepares the next stage of expansion? Europe will not save Armenia. The Trans-Atlantic alliance will not sacrifice Turkey and Azerbaijan for Armenia. We saw this in 2020. We saw it again in 2023, when Artsakh was abandoned, and Armenians were ethnically cleansed while the world watched. Armenia must not become Ukraine 2.0. 🇿🇦For those who have not seen this Metro Blitz video South Africa had a bullet train, the MetroBlitz, 35 years before President Cyril Ramaphosa first made his bullet train promise in 2019. The MetroBlitz was an experimental narrow-gauge high-speed train which, during testing in 1978, hit 245km/h, setting a world speed record for narrow-gauge rail that remains unbeaten today. The project began in the 1970s, when Herbert Scheffel of the South African Railways (SAR) experimented with self-steering bogies (trucks), which paved the way for a high-speed passenger service. The 245km/h record was achieved by one of the Series 4 locomotives, specifically number E1525, which was modified for experiments in high-speed traction. It achieved the speed record while hauling a modified suburban coach on a stretch of track between Westonaria and Midway in Gauteng. Union Carriage & Wagon then manufactured the 3kV DC Class 12E electric passenger locomotive in Nigel, Transvaal, for the SAR. It was a modified single-cab example of the Class 6E1, Series 10 locomotive. The passenger locomotive was designed and built to haul the MetroBlitz. Union Carriage & Wagon delivered five Class 12E locomotives in 1983, equipped with AEI-283AY traction motives.

To make this transition, we'll need to shut down train services on Saturday, October 14 after the morning peak service and for the entire day on Sunday, October 15, for the switch to electricity. This momentary pause is to ensure that your safety is our top priority. I can assure you that suspending passenger operations is a global practice to effect major changes. This switch to electricity will help us introduce more trips and help us serve more passengers safely. I'm proud to say that we launched the first phase of the LRMT Blue Line on September 4, 2023 and we have moved over 80,000 passengers. Our goal is to surpass 150,000 daily passengers between Marina and Mile 2 in the coming months. The future of Lagos trains is bright, and I'm committed to improving your commuting experience. Driving Maharashtra’s Progress Through Enhanced Rail Connectivity! Delighted to witness the 'flagging off ceremony of the Nagpur to Pune Vande Bharat Express' by Hon PM Narendra Modi Ji (online), with our leader Hon Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ji. This marks an important milestone in strengthening the connection between Vidarbha region and Pune, bringing faster and more comfortable travel to thousands of people. Nagpur to Pune is a heavily travelled route, yet many passengers have to travel by private vehicles by paying expensive fares. Following a request from the State government and the positive support of Hon Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw ji, this new Vande Bharat service was introduced. This train covers the longest route among all Vande Bharat Express trains in the country. This is exactly why I avoid shady dealerships. I’ve been to one that offered me a service on a part I don’t even have based on mileage recommendations. This woman went in for a basic service and when she went to see why it was taking too long she found her engine bay in pieces. The mechanics were using her brand new car for parts. This is ongoing so I’m not sure what they did as compensation but for me a free oil change is not going to cut it. Back when I had the 2004 Mitsubishi Evo, I mistakingly took it to the dealer for an oil change, I was warned against it because I had many aftermarket performance parts added and tuned. It was pushing 600hp which was double what it had at the factory, it was a beast at the time. I know the oil change normally only takes about an hour, it’s such a basic service. But when the tech was inspecting my car for their multi point inspections, he said my struts were bad and wrote me up a quote for new suspension, an alignment and he said my muffler was bad because I didn’t have a catalytic converter anymore. I also suspect he was the one who stole my carbon fiber shift knob, they replaced it with a stock one. They knew I had allot of work done and they even personally told me my warranty was voided which was illegal. Later on a law passed that said it’s only voided if the part replaced is what caused the issue. So no longer can they void my warranty because I changed my air filter box to a cold air intake. The suspension was HKS from Japan, brand new. No way it was having issues, I seriously think he wanted to replace my suspension because he wanted to keep my aftermarket suspension. I’ve heard of dealerships swapping parts before. They will blame my expensive parts and replace them with the factory parts all the while I’m paying them to steal from me.
