Right-click on a point of the path, then go to Mask and Shape Path > Set First Vertex.

I needed to "Set First Vertex" about a week ago, and I kneeeew you could do it but forgot how. When I asked chatgpt/google I couldn't get a response, so I presumed I imagined that you could do it. And of course, now i see it a week later lol. Very cool btw!

Have you tried to use Google AI Studio? You can share you screen with it and it can guide you step by step through the software. I use it a lot with Illustrator, it works amazingly well.
