Seth Rogen admitted he did an audition so wildly offensive by today's standards, he’s praying the tape was burned. Seth Rogen: Thank God it was mostly physical VHS tapes being used when I was auditioning, because the things I auditioned for would end my career very, very fast. Jimmy...

Seth Rogen reveals what his weed dealer finally admitted Howard Stern: Why now would anyone go to some shady character and buy weed? Seth Rogen: One is loyalty. I was buying weed off these guys in L.A., and legal weed was coming into the market. I just felt bad for them. It’s like that mom-and-pop store that’s one purchase away from closing. Howard Stern: That’s a very good point. I didn’t think about that. Seth Rogen: That’s how it is with the weed dealers. You have a loyalty to them. You don’t want to see them go under or have to find a new line of work. So, yes, I had loyalty to the guys I bought weed with, and I felt bad for abandoning them. Howard Stern: And you still will call them from time to time? Seth Rogen: No! I haven’t seen them in over a decade. Eventually you’re like, “Come on, it’s legal! Why am I meeting a guy on a corner and driving around the block?” It’s like buying cheese from a guy on the street. There’s no need to put myself through this anymore. Howard Stern: How long did you stick with your dealer after weed became legal? Seth Rogen: Eventually I asked him, “Where do you get this weed?” And the guy said, “Honestly, we just get it at the store, also.” Howard Stern: Your weed dealer went to the store where he bought it legally and sold it to you illegally… and raised the price! Seth Rogen: Yeah, just a slight markup! And when he said it, I could tell he was like, “Oh no, I shouldn’t be saying this.” I could literally see on his face he was like, “I just let the cat out of the bag on that one!”

Seth Rogen jokes that Apple is okay with snorting “cocaine” off an iPhone, but won’t let a bad guy own one in a movie. Seth Rogen: …on Apple. It’s amazing that the biggest corporation in the history of the world has invested in me in any capacity. Seth Meyers: I know! It doesn’t seem like a fit. Seth Rogen: No, it doesn’t, and I agree. Even working with them, I was like, “I can’t imagine that our brand of humor is going to fly with these people.” (laughs) I remember reading the scripts for Platonic, and there’s literally a scene in the first season where we’re snorting cocaine and ketamine off an iPhone. I remember thinking, “I don’t know if Apple’s going to be cool with this.” But Apple let it happen. They let it happen. And I’m not saying you should snort cocaine off an iPhone, I’m just saying it is technically the perfect cocaine-snorting surface. Seth Meyers: I know. I’m glad they let that happen, because every now and then there’s an Apple show where there’s a real high-tech bad guy who’s got a flip phone, and I’m like, “All right.” Seth Rogen: Exactly. They don’t like murderers to have iPhones. (laughs) They don’t like that. They don’t like it if you damage them. There’s some weird stuff. Seth Meyers: I will say they’ve told us a little bit about themselves. They’re like, “No, we’re good with that ketamine scene.” Seth Rogen: “Oh, we’re okay with ketamine, but you just can’t smoke cigarettes on an Apple TV+ show.” (laughs) You can snort cocaine, but no cigarettes. Seth Meyers: What an interesting time we live in. Seth Rogen: Comedically, I’ll take it.
