Alex from Digital Foundry is doubtful about GTA 6 Trailer 2 "Gameplay" aspect and what Rockstar Games means by it, he wouldn't allow other developers call it gameplay, because of the 20 by 9 aspect ratio? In my opinion, Its not like we haven't seen these cinematic style shot settings in previous R* Games like RDR2 which allowed you to hold the switch camera button to add black bars to your current Gameplay to make it more cinematic. I don't see how that changes the statement of "entirely in-game from a PlayStation 5, comprised of equal parts gameplay and cutscenes" if these shots are captured in a more stylish way to promote a Trailer Video

A classic from the golden era: Anno 1602 (created by Max Design in 1998). It was a massive surprise blockbuster, both commercially and critically acclaimed. The game kickstarted what eventually turned into a franchise that is still alive today with its most recent release, Anno 117, from November 2025. So, what made the first Anno game so great? For its time it showed incredible attention to detail: excellent graphics, a wonderful soundtrack, and above all a highly addictive “just one more minute” gameplay - seeing your empire grow through colonization and trade. Other games such as Sim City or The Settlers had a similar vibe, that slow and steady progress, and sometimes just zooming out and looking at what you had created was reward enough. This was also true for Anno, simply looking at it, while life hustled and bustled by, was wonderful. Perfect for late night gaming sessions when reflexes and speed were not at peak anymore.

Compulsion Games Compulsion Games blocks Smash JT, @kabrutusrambo, myself and others as they post tepid gameplay trailer for SBI game "South by Midnight" releasing in 2025 The community manager hates gamers, Asians and whites and has locked their account down. Recap of my original story when insiders came forward to talk about the problems with the game and studio: UPDATE: More ex-developers come forth about Sweet Baby Inc. project, South of Midnight, by Compulsion Games - The Community Mgr is still protected after saying she hates gamers and has a problem with Asian & White people. - Main character was race swapped in order to better reflect a tale set in the deep South after MS and SBI involvement. - The team that created their past celebrated title, "We Happy Few," is mostly gone, leaving after being disillusioned about changes after the XBOX MS and SBI involvement, studio politics, and more. - Less than 10% of the original "We Happy Few" team remains. - Promotion of non qualified staff to lead and management positions resulted in a mess of a project. "There are many good people there." My thoughts: This is a beautiful looking game, and I can really sense the passion in the Creative Director's thoughts. I really hope SBI and MS haven't ruined this game with DEI policies and by hiring SBI and that the gameplay matches the visuals. Did you know that Simon the Sorcerer (1993) was born out of a failed licensing agreement between Terry Pratchett (Discworld) and Adventure Soft? Prior to working on Simon the Sorcerer, Adventure Soft was mostly known for their horror-themed games, such as Elvira or Waxworks (under the Horror Soft label). The idea to move towards more family friendly games was mostly motivated by the huge popularity of games such as Monkey Island and Legend of Kyrandia. Simon the Sorcerer had a very vibrant style, with bold colors and beautiful pixel art. Every graphic was first hand-drawn on paper, then scanned, and manually colored in the final step. In typical point and click adventure style, you navigate Simon through almost 50 of these hand-drawn screens, solving puzzles by collecting and using items, and talking to other characters, looking for clues. Pretty much all adventure games from that era followed the same script, and that was fine. Adventure Soft obviously never had the same marketing power as LucasArts or Sierra, but Simon the Sorcerer still managed to sell over half a million units, which made the game highly profitable for a small family owned game studio from the UK and became their biggest hit ever.

Today, Black & White turns 25 years old. Happy birthday! Developed by Lionhead Studios and published by Electronic Arts on 27 March 2001, the project was led by none other than Peter Molyneux. It is widely regarded as a textbook example of a game that was too ambitious for its time, resources, and team size. Still critically acclaimed and a cult favourite, it underperformed commercially relative to the massive hype surrounding it (and Molyneux’s name). The game combined god-game mechanics (influencing villagers and facing moral choices between good and evil), a learning AI creature, gesture-based controls, hand-of-god interaction, and a massive open world. This was groundbreaking in 2001, but it also pushed hardware limits too far for the average user. I’m not surprised it came from Lionhead Studios.
