Fear and anger can be clearly seen in a video that has surfaced from Uttam Nagar, Delhi, where a woman is speaking out about what she says is happening to Hindu families in the area. In the video she claims that Uttam Nagar is slowly being turned into something like “Pakistan”, where Hindus are being attacked and even small children are becoming targets. She says the situation has become so serious that violence and even killings are being talked about, yet no strong action is being taken. According to the woman, a small child was almost killed during the incident and if neighbors had not stepped in to help at the right time, the outcome could have been far worse. The woman also makes serious allegations against the police. She claims that when they called the police while hiding inside their house, no help arrived. She further says that the police take money and try to suppress such cases instead of taking action against the people responsible. What is the truth behind the Uttam Nagar violence? So far, most accounts circulating publicly have come from only one side. I spoke to Shaheen from the Muslim family involved, who alleged that the dispute began after her aunt was harassed on the day of Holi, following which tensions escalated in the neighbourhood. According to her, Tarun later arrived with around 20–25 individuals carrying iron rods and sticks and allegedly assaulted several members of her family, leaving many seriously injured. She also claimed that a 14-year-old boy, Rizwan, was beaten, suffered seizures, and was later taken away from the hospital, after which the family has had no information about his whereabouts. Shaheen further alleged that despite multiple injuries in the family, several of their male relatives, including a minor, were arrested and sent to jail, while their homes and vehicles were looted and demolished, and women from the family were also taken into custody. Sen. Shaheen: There's bipartisan agreement in this Senate that we should be putting more pressure on Russia. Rubio: Russia is under incredible amount of pressure. Sen. Shaheen: President Trump made a promise to end war in Ukraine on day one. And here we are, almost year and half into this administration, and he has let Russia and Putin off the hook.
