The liberal judges in the Supreme Court even ruled that a slave was a property not a citizen. The Republicans ended slavery and dissented when the Supreme Court ruled that a slave was a property. Abraham Lincoln, a Republican President ended slavery and he was assassinated. Carol Swain (Carol M. Swain, PhD) gives us a small history course on slavery in America.
