One of my first and most ambitious project ideas when I started to learn front-end webapp development was to create an interactive skew-t/hodograph viewer where the profile could be modified through keyboard inputs— the first of its kind on a web platform— where parameters would update as you modified the profile. 10,000 lines of code and over a year of development later, that vision now lives in Storm Chase Archive. The right and left arrows warm and cool selected points on the skew-t. The up and down arrows adiabatically lift or descend those selected points. 2020 COLLECTION: 5 YEARS LATER - DAY2 For the next part of the drop there were a series of 21 1/1 auctions over two days. By the time this video was shot at 6pm on Saturday about 5 of the auctions had closed and I had now made over $1M on the drop. We were still very much trying to process what in the hell was even going on, marking down all of the auction results on a white board while we hung out in Scott’s back yard in disbelief of what was occurring. By the end of day the people at Niftygateway were telling me that *think* possibly ONE person had actually won all of the auctions so far under many different names… 😱

China isn't the villain in this story. We are the idiots. In multiple frontier industries we are repeating the same mistake: First modern electronics, then phones, then EVs, now pharma. You cannot outsource manufacturing of frontier tech without becoming redundant in all other parts of the value chain too. Because whoever builds it, learns it, ultimately owns it. Two weeks in Japan. Hundreds of photos. One creative rabbit hole I couldn’t resist going down. Last year, I created a song as an experiment. I wanted to blend Japanese and English lyrics and see what kind of mood it would create. It turned into something atmospheric and different from anything I’d done before. Then my wife and I spent two incredible weeks in Japan late last year, and the experience stuck with me. Seeing the temples, shrines, and local shops while my wife and I wandered around Kyoto left a lasting impression. When I got back, I realized that the song needed a visual story. So I decided to build a full music video around it. I started by fleshing out the concept and writing a shot list like a real production. Then the fun began. What’s interesting is that many of the locations you see in the video actually started as photos I took while my wife and I wandered around Kyoto. Those images became the foundation for the environments that were later generated and brought to life with AI. It was a fascinating, creative process. Part music creation, part photography, part storytelling, and part AI experimentation. The first fully AI-generated movie just went viral in Cannes. The film is called Hell Grind. According to reports, it was made using Higgsfield AI in around 14 days, cost about $500,000 and roughly $400,000 of that went to compute. For context, a traditional Hollywood feature can take 1-3 years and cost tens of millions to produce. This one was created by a team of about 15 directors, cinematographers, and editors using AI tools like Higgsfield’s Soul Cinema, Seedance 2.0 and other video models. The craziest part? For just the first 25 minutes, CineD reported they generated 16,181 clips to get 253 final shots. That’s roughly 64 attempts for every shot. Some prompts were reportedly around 3,000 words each, just to get 15 seconds of usable footage. So yes, AI is getting faster. Max B has been released from prison after serving over 16 years behind bars. On Sunday (Nov. 9), the Harlem, N.Y. rapper was released from custody at Northern State Prison in Newark, N.J., and is now a free man.
