Sharia Law is already effectively banned by the constitution. Furthermore, calls to ban Sharia Law display a fundamental ignorance about how laws are enacted. Elected legislatures pass laws. These morons who call for banning Sharia Law seem to think that somehow some Imam or Huju is going to unilaterally impose Sharia Law. No laws of any kind can be passed except by legislative bodies, which are elected by the public. Even if we passed a law banning Sharia Law, that law could be repealed if the public for some inexplicable reason elected a legislature that wanted to enact Sharia Law. While I have no more desire to live under Sharia Law than I have to put an ice pick in my ear, the only reason I can think of for calling for a ban on Sharia Law is to instill fear and incite hate. Bottom line, if you call for banning Sharia Law, you are either stupid or think that you are talking to stupid people.
