Sharing this again as it remains evergreen advice for artists

Finding inspiration everywhere is a skill that unlocks your true potential as an artist, in my opinion. You can create new ideas by just combining things, or going 'what if?' Do it always, and it'll come naturally to you.

While it is true that combining existing ideas one may have can lead to new ones, it's still beneficial to expose one's mind to new ones through reading and engaging in activities outside of one's comfort zone as well to have an even wider breadth of potential.

Pretty much, yeah. But combining ideas also, in turn, makes something new. And inevitably, what you make will take from what you find anyway.

honestly the advice is so good it can apply to any creative direction even programming (my job) even though it's mostly laying pipes, it is utmost important to have fresh ideas. so go on, read, think, experiment, do! GO! You don't have to publish anything, just DO IT!
