It sounds like she was unprotected by her family so now she is hyper independent.

Everyone is stuck on the moving at 16-18 part. What she’s saying is that some women move out of their parents houses and into a place with a man that is probably the same age as them and become dependent financially on them, as if the man was their parent.

I think this is actually very sad, you’re still a child at 18. Being made to stand on your own feet at that age without the option of going home is actually quite cruel for a woman or a man.

This part of the reason why we are not further, 18 year olds aren’t adults!!!

We are raising our daughters to be strong self sustaining women. But you are not grown at 18. I’ve told my kids. “Hell you were 17 a week ago. How the hell you learned everything you need in a week?” They want our kids to think their grown so that they can take advantage of them

Can we just agree kicking your kids out as teenagers is scummy behaviour and sub par parenting? Unless that child is bringing police to your door dealing drugs out your house or worse, that’s your child!!
