My daughter and I spent some time outside to test out our new sled. She asked me to record her now and again in a couple months to see her progress. She gave me permission to share a clip of her using the sled. This is what we call "Backyard PT." This is why we bought this sled. This is why we're doing everything we can for her. We've had many days of setbacks, but watching her push forward despite those setbacks and watching her progress has been very humbling. She wants to live. To think, just 8 months ago, we thought she was going to die. She weighed 85lbs. No body fat and barely any muscle mass. She couldn't see, couldn't chew food, her organs were damaged, her gut wasn't working, her hands were too shaky and weak to give herself insulin, she couldn't even hold a 2lb water bottle or a plate of food. She could barely get out of bed without help. She couldn't even safely walk around the house. She had multiple falls. One that split open her chin and knocked out a couple of teeth, and one that resulted in a broken tibia. She needed a wheelchair just to get around the house. Just 3 months ago, she was still using a wheelchair but gradually transitioned to a walker with a seat. Today, she still uses a walker for doctor's appointments or going to the store, and she sometimes uses it to get around the house if her BP is low. But, she now weighs 113lbs. When her BP is good, she can walk slowly around the house with no assistance. She just uses the walls, counters, and furniture for stability if she needs it. Even though her PCP wants her to continue going to PT, she has already used up the maximum amount that her insurance covers, so now she's doing PT at home. She puts 2.5lb-5lb weights around her ankles for when she walks around the house. She's been going outside and trying to workout with our weightlifting equipment. This week, we bought this sled as a way for her to strengthen her legs and calves while giving her something to hold for stability and reducing her risk of injury or falls. We have noticed that strengthening her legs and calves has been a big help with her hypotension issues. Day #1 has already shown us that this was a good purchase. The best thing about this sled is that we can all use it. It has resistance modes 1-3. The faster it's pushed, the more resistance it has. We can add weights to it. Up to 270lbs. It's easy to turn, especially for someone like her who needs to start off with something extremely light and easy to use. We had fun with this yesterday. I first took it up and down our street, about 1/2 mile, pushing as fast as I could on resistance #1. The faster I pushed and more force I used, the more resistance I felt. Then, I brought it to our backyard and went back and forth pushing hard on #3. Then, she came outside and we spent almost an hour taking turns going back and forth. She first used resistance #1, then tried switching it to #2. She could definitely feel the difference. I would say that she's now all set up for some good Backyard PT. It took 8 months to get here. I can't wait to see where she'll be at in another 8 months 💪

I dated a girl once and she was extremely beautiful. She worked for DNA models. She ate a terrible diet that horrified me. She thought she had to. By far the strangest thing about her was that she would listen to the same song for over 4 hours in a row, every day She'd come home exhausted, climb into bed and put on her huge expensive headphones and start playing her song. It was this song. It was no secret, I could always hear it through the headphones. In her music app she only had this song and she put it on a permanent loop. Some days she'd listen to it for 4 hours. Other days for more. Occasionally at the weekends if she really needed to recover in bed, she'd listen for 8 hours or more When I was around her, I'd listen too. Not because I wanted to, but you could always hear it a little from her headphones, in the background. At a certain point, it started to feel normal. At the start, I asked her why she did it and she said "I just love this song, why would I listen to anything else". I really liked her answer. So I didn't challenge it. She said she'd been doing it for years Sometimes I'd pick her up from shoots in the city and the moment she met me she'd ask if she could please put her headphones on and listen to music. Then she'd start. She wouldn't do it in public without me there, because she wanted to stay aware of her surroundings. But if I was there, she could put her headphones on straight away and just trust she was safe. She'd listen to her song and rest on my shoulder and close her eyes as we rode the subway home Throughout our relationship we didn't talk much, really. It was more of a physical thing. Not in a superficial way. Not just lust. I mean that we were both completely satisfied just resting on each other, without speaking. We liked physical contact, or a sense of shared physical beingness. But neither of us needed to talk like most people do and we really savored that about each other I actually really loved it when she put her headphones on and entered her cosy, safe space. It was like she was entering into a little coccoon. With time, I realized it was a kind of recovery protocol and a meditative trance. It anchored a state of rest for her that she desperately needed. She didn't have OCD or any other compulsions. It was just this one thing. This one particular song. It was like a little cave she entered to heal from the stress of the day and burdens of existence. I dated her for 2 years and she did it every single day, up until the end. When I kissed her goodbye on the final day, she had her big headphones hanging around her neck and the song was playing through them. It was the last thing I heard, on the last day I looked into her eyes

Caller: "Okay. So, I've been with my wife for, we've been together since we were 14, for 14 years. I'm 32, I met her when I was 19, we had a child at 20. And, um, I've always just kind of been a butthead to her, to be honest. Every now and then I would demean her or make little comments, and I would say it started to really get bad about six weeks ago. Um, we were doing some work in the yard, and I really just blew up on her over the stupidest little thing. And then about a week later, we're just constantly arguing and dividing from each other. And then about a week or two later, she told me that she thought she was falling out of love with me. And it just really crushed me. I never would have thought that those words could come out of her mouth, and she told me that the way I treat her is, I'm not treating her the right way. And I completely owned it. I mean, I said everything you said is absolutely correct. You know, and I said, 'I don't want my son, our son growing up thinking that this is how you're supposed to treat women.' And, I mean, since that day, I have treated her like an angel. I mean, I've done everything and just constantly telling her I love her, giving her hugs, kisses. Um, but that was a Saturday night, and then Monday night she ended up telling me that she was, um, in communication with a guy she met on TikTok. And she told me she broke it off with him, and I asked her, What was the subjects about?' And she said it was just somebody to talk to about what I'm going through, my mental, you know, health. And she said it was never anything flirtatious or anything like that. She said it was just a stranger that I could talk to, but she said, 'I broke it off with him, and I'm gonna focus on us. And I said, 'I'm all in with you, let's rebuild this.' And we went about two weeks and it was just absolute honeymoon phase. I mean, we were just, never it was great. And then I went through her phone two weeks after that and found that she was on Snapchat with the guy. And I confronted her about it, and she said, 'Okay, well, I didn't think you were really gonna change, and I wanted to keep this friendship with the guy.' And she said, 'I'll break it off with him.' And I'm like, 'Okay, I guess I'll give you a second chance. I'm kind of heartbroken again that you would keep this from me. And then about a week and a half later, which was just yesterday, I went through the call logs on which, I feel bad because I'm constantly digging at all this, but every time I dig, I find something. And I confronted her yesterday that she's been talking to this guy for 30, 40, 50 minutes a day, um, the last week and a half, after she told me a third time that she was breaking it off with him. And I'm just super confused. I don't really know how to handle this. Now she's saying that she's all done talking to him, and I'm like, 'Well, how do I trust you now? You've been lying to me for the past three weeks about this.' So, that's really all I got." John Delony: "So for 14 years... you belittled your wife. She got the clear message she was beneath you. You're the smart one, you're the fast one, you're the quick one. You are the provider, you're the all this stuff." Caller: "Mhm. I always thought she was beneath me." John Delony: "Yeah, you did. And she's got that message for, for a decade and a half.

🎤 Interviewer: Since this is your first GL series too, and you had quite a few intense love scenes, could you tell us what it was like filming them? Bint: Can I talk about it? Yeah, yeah, definitely. She’s even spicier than me. She’s really something when it comes to love scenes. PuiNoon: I was actually the one who said I wanted to talk about the love scenes. I really wanted to talk about them. Bint: Yeah, she was the one who said “Can we do it again?” She’s literally the queen of ideas. I was like, “Oh wow, she’s something else.” 😂 🎤 Interviewer: Were you not shy at all? PuiNoon: At first, I really wasn’t shy because we’re both women, you know? 🥹 And we’ve spent so much time together already, so it felt really natural. But there were actually quite a few moments when I genuinely got shy. Like, for example... I was pretty confident about what I was supposed to do next. But then when I looked at her, instead of the way we’d normally look at each other with those romantic eyes... I looked at P’Bint and her nose was all flared up, probably because she was getting shy😂 And I just couldn’t handle her eyes because she kept looking at the exact same spot... which was literally my tummy. 😭😂 So that just made me even more shy. Bint: I had to focus, okay? PuiNoon: I was literally about to burst out laughing, so I had to look away. And honestly, I just couldn’t handle P’Bint’s eyes. She kept looking at me like that and I was like... girl, please💕 KHOM KHLANG MEDIA VISIT #ปุยนุ่นบิ้นท์พบพระมาพบสื่อ #bintsireethorn #PuinoonBint #Puinoonwrsr

🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting after a White elderly couple in their 80s let a Black female stranger use their shower because they felt bad for her... ...she then ST*BBED THEM BOTH TO DE*TH!!!! Now, she's pleading NOT GUILTY BY REASON OF INSANITY. Yes, you read that right. Their names were Darryl and Sharon Getman. He was 83, she was 80. They had been married for more than 20 years. On December 30th, a woman named Vickie Williams was seen wandering a retirement community. Security guards saw her. Cameras caught her multiple times. One resident was so unnerved by an encounter with her that they hit a panic alarm. ...then she knocked on the Getmans' door. She asked if she could use their shower and charge her cellphone. Darryl and Sharon Getman, 83 and 80 years old decided they should show some kidness... ...and they let her in. Sometime between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m., prosecutors say Vickie Williams grabbed a kitchen knife and brutally m*rdered them both. A forensic pathologist testified they found of MULTIPLE wounds. Both had defensive wounds, meaning an 83-year-old man and his 80-year-old wife spent their final moments fighting for their lives. When police found Darryl, a butcher-style knife was still buried in his abdomen. There were bloody footprints through the house and out into the garage. Prosecutors say that after k*lling them, she WASHED HER CLOTHES in their laundry room while they She took their car keys. And at 2 in the morning, a camera photographed the Getmans' green Kia Soul rolling out of that retirement community. She drove it all the way to Savannah, Georgia. And when she turned up at a man's apartment in Georgia days later, here is what he testified, under oath, this week: "She told me she bought a new car." She LIED about it and he said she was rushing inside "like somebody was after her or something." She was arrested January 2nd at an Amtrak station in Savannah, still driving the couple's car. And now, almost four years later, her defense is that she was suffering from 'psychosis" and should be found not guilty by reason of insanity. Prosecutors say she has an arrest record going back decades of assault and robbery. Say their names. Darryl Getman. Sharon Getman. WE DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THIS!!!!!!!

‼️Erika Kirk Just Posted NEW Vacation Pics To Her IG And I Have Questions Who Is The "MYSTERY MAN" With Her And WHY Is She Trying To Pass Someone Elses Kid Off As Gigi? 👀 On the anniversary of Charlie’s death, Candace sat down on her show and read the letters she has been writing to him in Heaven. People felt that because it was raw. It was ugly in the right way. It was a friend who is actually mourning him. Erika saw how that landed. Then she posts this family fishing clip with a caption written like a letter to Charlie. That is not grief. That is her watching what worked and running the same playbook. She has already admitted she researched how widows grieve. She said there is no blueprint. She did not feel it. She had to study it. This post is no different. The comments clocked it immediately — cringe, staged, fake. A person who cannot feel it copies the person who can. Now look at the video. That little girl on the deck in the pink Crocs, tie-dye hoodie, and baby fishing pole is not her daughter Gigi. Three weeks ago she posted Gigi at the Cubs–Diamondbacks game in the big 04 jersey, standing at the rail. Gigi is taller and older. So who is she hugging in this new clip? Who is she teaching to fish while she captions it like a letter to Charlie? Why pass someone else’s child off as her own? And who is the adult male in the white shirt sitting on that deck? This is supposed to be a private family trip. Who is close enough to be there with her and those kids? Who is holding the camera? Could that be Blake Wynn — the same guy she was caught with at the Beverly Hills Hotel — or another man she will not name? Charlie answered his critics to their face with more speech. He brought them to the front of the line. Erika stays quiet in public and directs her proxies to attack anyone who simply notices. If Erika Kirk will not answer these three basic questions — why copy Candace’s letters, who is that mystery little girl, and who is the man she trusted enough to take on a private family vacation around her kids — she is proving the point for us. Night and day from the man she claims to be mourning. ⚠️As you guys know this is now day 13 of no monetization. Now more than ever we rely on the support of our community to keep the Charlie Kirk investigation alive. If you value our work and want to support us, you can click the link in the post below to donate to our fundraiser. 👇

This is why the Colin / Allie pickup story has never sat right with me. In Trial 1, Colin Albert and Allie McCabe both seem very comfortable with the clean parts of the story12:10. Allie was there. Colin came out. It was starting to snow. But then the details that would actually make the story feel real suddenly get blurry. Colin says Allie texted him that she was there. He says he responded “come in.” He says he came out 30 seconds to a minute later. But when asked where Allie’s car was in the driveway, he does not remember. When asked what part of the car he got into, he does not remember. Front passenger seat? “Could have been.” Was anyone else in the car? He does not remember. Was anyone else in the car when she dropped him off? He does not remember. Then Allie says she believes she was in the driveway, on the left side, but she is not entirely sure. She does not remember whether she came from Chapman or Cedarcrest. She does not know which front door Colin came out of. She says “I believe” like she is saying what she is supposed to say, not what she actually remembers. So they both remember the time. They both remember it was starting to snow. But they cannot clearly remember the driveway, the route, the door, the seat, or who was in the car. Now add the new Life360 details, which raise even more questions about Allie’s movements and whether the documentary record actually supports the simple version we were told. At some point, this stops looking like a normal memory gap and starts looking like a story that was built around a timestamp. I am not saying what definitely happened. I am saying the testimony and the data do not line up cleanly enough to just wave it away. If the pickup happened exactly the way they said it did, why are the most basic details so hard to answer?

They have charged senior citizen Miria Matembe with sectarianism. It fits the pattern exactly. They picked sectarianism against a woman who spent her whole life fighting for every Ugandan woman regardless of tribe, and they picked it because the charge was never the point. The charge is the paperwork. It exists to give Luzira a legal sounding reason to swallow her, so that when you ask why a 72-year-old is in a maximum security prison, somebody can wave a file at you and call it due process. This is how the machine works now. We have watched it do this to Besigye, to Lukwago, to Eddie Mutwe and countless others. Matembe is just the latest name fed through it. She was brought into that courtroom held up by two people, unable to stand on her own. Days ago she sat upright in her own home, clear and strong, telling the truth about this regime out loud. Now she could not walk into a room without being helped, her body showed the signs of torture wherever they have kept her since they took her. Days missing, her family never told where she was. Then she is brought to court like this and a sane magistrate accepts the charges against her and sends her to prison. She begged. She cried in that courtroom, asking the magistrate for bail so she could simply get to a hospital and have a scan, just to know whether something inside her was broken. She said, plainly, that she would not survive a night in prison without help. This is a woman who sat in the Constituent Assembly and fought for the document that courtroom claims to operate under, reduced to pleading for a scan like a stranger begging at a gate. The magistrate looked at her and looked away, then sent her to Luzira anyway. That same constitution allows her bail. It does not protect her now, because the people running this country have decided it does not apply to whoever Muhoozi is angry with this week. So let us not pretend this is a country of laws. A country of laws does not carry a sick 72-year-old into court and remand her to prison in that condition. They abducted Matembe. They tortured her. Then they brought her before a magistrate with a charge sheet already prepared, so the whole thing would look like justice instead of what it actually was. This is the system functioning exactly as it was built to function, and that is precisely the problem. Get her out. Get her to a hospital. Whoever you support, whatever you usually scroll past, this one should reach you, because they are showing us plainly what they are, and they are doing it to one of the best of us while asking us to call it law. 🎥Misheline Mutuzo #FreeMiriaMatembe #FreeAllPoliticalPrisonersInUganda #FreeUganda

“Saving myself for marriage was a waste.” Caller: “How do I deal with the bitterness and resentment growing toward my husband? I feel like he ruined sex for me. I grew up very religious. Nothing fun in the bedroom until marriage. I met him at 27 and we got married at 30. But our honeymoon felt more like a vacation than a honeymoon. He initiated maybe once the entire trip. The aggression, the lust, the passion… it just isn’t there. And I keep having this thought: If this was what sex was going to be like, I could have been having fun in my 20s. What was the point?” Dr. John Delony: “That’s not stupid at all. Not even a tiny bit. In religious communities especially, sex gets put on this pedestal. This pinnacle thing that’s supposed to change your life. Then their husband is tired or doesn’t have the libido they expected, and they look in the mirror and think, ‘It must be me. What’s wrong with me? Why doesn’t he desire me?’ And that starts a spiral that can become really hard to get a hold of.” And this is where the story gets deeper. The hard truth: She may not actually be angry that she waited. She may be angry because she was promised that waiting would lead to a specific experience and reality didn’t deliver it. She was taught that if she waited, marriage would unlock the intimacy, passion, and desire she had been told to expect. But marriage doesn’t come with a guaranteed libido. And a wedding ring can’t manufacture chemistry, confidence, communication, attraction, or sexual compatibility. That creates a painful realization: She traded one set of expectations for another and neither matched reality. But there’s another uncomfortable truth. Her husband’s lack of initiation doesn’t automatically mean she isn’t attractive or desirable. People have different libidos. Some struggle with shame around sex. Some carry their own religious conditioning into marriage. Some simply don’t experience desire in the way their partner expects. So the question can’t just be, “Why doesn’t he want me?” It has to become: “What is happening between us, and are we both willing to understand it and work on it?” Because resentment will turn a bedroom problem into a marriage problem. And she has every right to grieve the experience she thought she was going to have. But she also has a choice now. She can spend years calculating whether waiting was “worth it”… or she can stop mourning the sex life she imagined and start having the uncomfortable conversation required to build the one she actually wants.

On this day, 34 years ago, "My Cousin Vinny" (1992) was released in the USA. The story of how Marisa Tomei was cast in the movie despite studio not wanting her: "Jonathan Lynn: The studio offered it to any Italian American they could think of with any name value. They all passed. I think they thought the part wasn’t big enough. Dale Launer: Lorraine Bracco was discussed, but I think she passed. Also on the list was Carole Davis. She’s an actress and a hip-hop singer. We’re friends, and I called her when I was down in Butler, Alabama, doing research for the movie. I remember she said, “I bet the Chinese food down there is terrible.” I thought that was funny, so I took it and gave it to Lisa. Jonathan Lynn: I started auditioning lots of people. They all came in to read, and nobody was right. I was getting very worried. By chance, John Landis phoned and said, “I’m finishing shooting Oscar this week,” which was a film with Sylvester Stallone and Danny DeVito. “Would you like to come down to Paramount and look at the amazing set before it’s broken down?” I said sure. Marisa came onto the set and did her little scene. I said to John, “Who is this? She’s really good.” She was playing a 1920s blonde flapper, nothing at all like Lisa, but I could see she had good timing. Paul Schiff: She came in and just blew us all away with this fiery, fierce, funny, witty performance. When she walked out of the room, we all looked at each other and, as cliché as it sounds, we said, “We found her.” Then we realized, “OK, this is going to be a fight.” She was relatively unknown. There was pressure from the studio to cast a star. Jonathan Lynn: I said to Fox, “I know who I’m going to cast.” They said, “We want to see a screen test of your first three choices.” I said, “OK.” We did a test of three women, including Marisa. Then I took the test to Joe Pesci, who was filming Goodfellas. I said, “I’ve got these three screen tests. I want you to know if you think it’s the same person I think it is.” He said, “Yeah, Marisa Tomei.” I said, “Right, I agree.” I then went to Fox. They picked somebody else from the screen test. We had an argument with the president of the studio for about half an hour. Finally I produced my trump card. I said, “Joe Pesci thinks it should be Marisa.” Studios never want to have a fight with a leading actor, especially shortly before a film begins. There was a pause and then he said, “Look, it’s your film. You cast who you want.”" ("‘What Is a Yute?’: An Oral History of ‘My Cousin Vinny’", Andy Greene, Rollin Stone, 2022)

You invite vayne to a date on the beach. she says no. you don't ask why. three days later she shows up at your door with a duffel bag and says "lets go" you don't question it. you drive in silence. the aroma of salty air starts leaking through the cracked window an hour before you arrive. she watches the side mirror the entire drive like someone's going to follow you to a public beach on a saturday. you pull into the lot. she doesn't get out of the car. the ocean is loud even through the windshield. waves breaking in slow rolling booms. gulls somewhere. kids laughing down the shoreline. she's staring at the water like it's something she was sent to kill. "change of plans" she says. you wait. she grips the strap of the duffel bag tighter. her knuckles go pale. "i can't swim" you blink. the demon hunter. the woman who has slain demons with her crossbow in total darkness. cannot swim. you try not to smile. she sees you try not to smile. "say one word and i'm walking home" you don't say a word. she gets out of the car. slams the door harder than she needs to. her swimsuit is black. of course it's black. she'd wear tactical gear to the beach if they made it in swim fabric. her crossbow is in the duffel bag. you know it's in the duffel bag. she knows you know. the sand is hot under your feet. the wind pulls at her hair and she keeps pushing it back with irritation. you walk her down to the shore. she stops where the water touches her toes and doesn't move. a wave comes in and wraps around her ankles and pulls back and she watches the sand shift under her feet like the earth just betrayed her. "this is stupid" you say "we don't have to" "i said we're doing it" the sun is directly overhead. your shadow is small. you can smell the salt on her skin already. sunscreen she definitely applied angrily in the car. you hold out your hand. she looks at it for a long second. then she reluctantly takes it. her grip is tighter than it needs to be. her palm is warm. you can feel her pulse in her thumb. you walk in together. knee deep. the water is cold enough to make her inhale sharply. she doesn't complain. she doesn't complain about anything ever. waist deep. a small wave hits her hip and she tightens her grip on you. you pretend not to notice. chest deep. her breathing changes. she grabs your shoulder with her free hand. hard enough that you'll have a mark tomorrow. "i don't like this" you tell her to lean back. you'll hold her. you've got her. she doesn't lean back. "i don't lean back. ever" you say "i know. that's the problem" she looks deep into your eyes as if staring into your soul. the water is moving around both of you in slow pulses. her hair is wet at the ends from where it dipped in. there's salt drying on her cheekbones. her eyes are the color they always are but they look different in this light. less like something hunting you. more like something that hasn't slept in years. long pause. then she leans back. slowly. an inch at a time. like she's disarming a trap that could go off under her. your hand slides under her back. the other cups the back of her neck. her hair spreads out around her in the water. her whole body tightening. she's staring straight up at the sky. "if i drown i'm coming back to kill you" you tell her she's floating. "i know i'm floating. i can feel it" her voice is different. quieter. softer than the voice she uses in the world. you've never heard it. the sun is on her face. her eyelashes are wet and clumped. a single drop of seawater slides from her temple down into her hair. she doesn't flinch. you keep your hand under her even though she doesn't need it anymore. she doesn't tell you to move it. minutes pass. you're not sure how many. then a bigger wave rolls in from behind you. she feels it before she sees it. she panics. snaps upright. both arms around your neck. her face buried in the crook of your shoulder. her whole body pressed against yours in the water. you can feel her heart beating against your chest. you hold her. the wave passes under both of you and keeps going. neither of you moves. you can hear her breathing. slow and shaky. her fingers are tangled at the back of your neck. the ocean sounds further away than it did a minute ago. she smells like salt and sun and something underneath that you don't have a word for. she doesn't let go for a long time. when she finally does she pushes away like she just realized what she was doing. her face is flushed from something that isn't the sun. she won't look at you. she starts walking back to shore without a word. the water breaks around her waist then her knees then her ankles. you follow. on the sand she towels off aggressively. attacks her hair like it insulted her personally. the sun is lower now. gold on the water behind her. kids are still laughing somewhere down the beach. she won't make eye contact. then she says "we're doing this again" she doesn't ask. she tells. "and don't tell ANYONE what you just saw" Study the Saskio way

English poetry began in a cowshed. With a herdsman who could not sing. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧 Every feast at Whitby, the harp came round the table. Every feast, Cædmon slipped away before it reached him. Until one night, Bede tells us, a voice spoke into his sleep: sing me the beginning of things. He woke with verses no one had ever taught him. ✍️ By morning the farm reeve was marching him up the cliff, to the abbess herself. She could have laughed a dreaming cowherd back to his cattle. But the woman by the fire was Hilda of Whitby. Born royal, kin to King Edwin of Northumbria, baptised at 13 beside him in 627 with the whole royal court. She was bound for a convent in Gaul when Aidan of Lindisfarne called her back. By 649 she ruled the abbey at Hartlepool, and in 657 she founded her own at Whitby: monks on one side, nuns on the other, one woman over both. She built it into a school that sent out 5 future bishops. Bede says ordinary folk carried their troubles up that cliff for her counsel. So did kings and princes. 🏛️ And in 664 the argument of the age climbed it too. The church had split over the date of Easter, two calendars in one kingdom, the king keeping one Easter while his own queen, in the same hall, kept the other. At the Synod of Whitby, under Hilda's roof, the king chose one calendar so the kingdom could keep one feast. Hilda had stood with the other side. She lost, accepted it and kept her people together. ⚖️ That was the judge the cowherd stood before. She did not laugh. She sat him before her scholars and asked for the song. He sang, and they heard something no schooling could explain. So Hilda set a test: a passage of scripture, turned to verse by morning. He came back with it made. 🔥 She took him in, and the cowherd became a brother of the abbey, spending the rest of his life turning scripture into English song. The 9 lines from the byre, Cædmon's Hymn, are the first English poem with a name on it. English poetry begins with a farmhand, because an abbess took him seriously. Hilda burned with fever for her last 6 years and never stopped teaching. She died in 680. Bede wrote that all who knew her called her mother. 🇬🇧 And on the shore below her abbey, the rocks lie coiled like sleeping snakes. Legend says Hilda turned the serpents of Whitby to stone. The town's coat of arms carries 3 of them to this day. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Somewhere in an English classroom tomorrow, a child will write their first poem. That road begins in a cowshed on a dark headland, 13 centuries back. They should know who opened it. A farmhand who dared and a woman who listened. We are the home of British heroes. There is a place for you in it. 👉 👈 Be part of us. ☝️🇬🇧 Be Proud Of Us. 🙏🇬🇧

Carrie Sakamoto was injured by the COVID-19 vaccine. This is her testimony at the Allison Inquiry. 1. Background Carrie was a healthy woman. She had received all her childhood vaccines and a flu shot years earlier. When COVID-19 vaccines became available, she chose AstraZeneca for her first dose in April 2021 because she was told it was closest to the flu vaccine. She received Pfizer for her second dose on June 18, 2021. 2. The onset She got sick right away, flu-like symptoms, same as her husband who received the same shot at the same time. She wasn't concerned at first. The news said side effects like rash and fever were normal. Her husband recovered. She got progressively worse. 3. The swelling and fever Her lymph nodes on the right side of her neck swelled up. She had a high fever. Because of COVID restrictions, her GP wouldn't see her in person, only a phone call. She was diagnosed over the phone with tonsil stones and prescribed antibiotics. 4. "Fire in my brain" The next morning, extreme pain began in her brain. She describes it as "fire in my brain", a burning sensation all over her head, so severe she was vomiting constantly. She still has this pain today and takes medication for it, which is causing memory loss. 5. Hospital visits and dismissal She went to the ER. They thought it was migraines, gave her migraine medication, IV fluids, and something for her stomach, then sent her home. As soon as the medications wore off, she was right back where she started. She lost a lot of weight from not eating and constant sickness. 6. Facial paralysis On the way back to the hospital, her face felt like it was swelling. Looking in the car's side mirror, she saw half her face had dropped. She thought she was having a stroke. At the hospital, they told her it was Bell's palsy and sent her home again, saying the hospital was full of COVID patients and only taking emergencies. They gave her steroids. 7. Losing function Again, as soon as the medications wore off, the burning in her brain returned, and now half her face was paralyzed. Her eye was paralyzed open, she had to patch it, constantly applying gel so it wouldn't dry out and she wouldn't lose the eye. She experienced hearing loss and balance issues. She had no strength. Numbness spread on the left side of her face. She worried it would reach her eye and she'd lose her vision. 8. Unable to swallow The paralysis came down her throat to her shoulder and back. She couldn't chew or swallow. She was put on feeding tubes and had to relearn how to eat. She was in the hospital for 17 days. 9. Ongoing conditions - Synkinesis - nerves healed back wrong, all connected incorrectly. Constant pulling and cramping in her face, very painful, worse the more she talks. Her eye droops. Blurry and double vision. - Memory loss - doctors believe it's medication-related. She was tested and scored as early-onset Alzheimer's. She can't go off the medication or she ends up "very sick" again. She describes it as "having a side effect from the side effects of the medication." - Two types of vertigo - Light sensitivity - she wears glasses for it - Ongoing eye problems - infections, redness, skin damage around the eye from constant patch removal 10. The program Her doctors told her this was a vaccine injury — she says she's had doctors on her side the whole time. She received a partial payout from the vaccine injury program — she's one of the 0.01%. But she's still in appeals. They approved her vaccine injury but denied all her medications, all her therapies, her hearing aid, and her glasses. Everything is out of pocket, including her psychologist. Therapies have stopped. She started a GoFundMe to keep her medicine going. 11. The toll on her family They had to sell everything and leave their "forever home." She had to explain to her children they couldn't stay. They moved into town. Her youngest never went back to school, they homeschool. He's in grade 11 now and suffers severe migraines. He also had Pfizer. Her mother got a booster, developed shingles, was diagnosed with turbo cancer, and died a year into Carrie's injury, before she ever saw her first oncologist. 12. Her words "I feel abandoned from the government that said they were going to be here for us. We were told that if we did this, things could go back to normal. We were told that we wouldn't be able to do things if we didn't get it." "The program has been awful. For people who are injured, they can't get the help they need. And we're just looking for medical help. We just want help with our health." "I hear people talking all the time about us being anti-vax when it couldn't be further from the truth." Where is our humanity if we don't have enough compassion to help people who believed the experts parroting "safe and effective" 24/7?
