What might actually kill Katsiaryna Bartko is a facility in Kansas that had her diagnosis in writing and still let her go without medication for weeks. The facility’s own paperwork shows staff documented her condition, ordered labs, wrote referrals... for outside specialists — then didn’t follow through. Her medication was confiscated June 23 and withheld until July 10. By June 22 her hands were locking into spasms she couldn’t straighten. An endocrinology referral from August 11 still sits unsigned, quantity zero. No outside specialist has seen her in over two months — the government admits that in its own filings. A reviewing physician with Physicians for Human Rights says her bloodwork shows rising risk of myxedema coma, mortality rate 20 to 60%. She’s never been convicted of anything. ICE is holding her over a lapsed student visa while her 2023 asylum case sat untouched for three years. Her hearing is September 28.
