People who took statins had negligible absolute risk reductions. Plaque in arteries of 66% of heart attack patients in one study did not have obstructive plaque and some had no plaque at all. A study on stents failed to show any decreased incidence of heart attacks compared to people who didn't get stents. To be fair, the studies he cites (PMID's: 2035446, 19081406, 35285850, 38823406, 25601032, 14623791) are a drop in the bucket compared to the volume of science that supports the standard of care in Cardiology, but these studies (which are often funded by Big Pharma) should raise some serious concerns.
