He thinks of himself as Lord Krishna, and ₹6500 crore of dirty money collected by the BJP as the 'potli' of rice donated by Sudama. The Election Commission kept the result for Rajarhat New Town Assembly Constituency deliberately pending until 3PM today. After the initial rounds showed our candidate leading, Election Commission of India arbitrarily ordered a recount, and today, after our counting agents were shooed out the previous night to make way for BJP's rigging, BJP was declared the winner by a margin of just 316 votes. Shri Abhishek Banerjee has issued a simple, specific and unavoidable challenge to the ECI to release the CCTV footage for just four hours, between 8PM and midnight. If everything was above board, there is no reason to hesitate. Release the footage. Let the public see.

Meenakshi Natarajan and Parimal Nathwani kind of case has happened in Kerala already in 2021 during the Assembly poll. 3 NDA Candidates from Thalassery N Haridas, Guruvayur Nivedida Subramanian and AIADMK Devikulam Candidate Dhanalakshmi were rejected based on minor discrepancy not even concealing any details. They were not given time to rectify whereas LDF Kondotty candidate Sulaiman Haji had got time to rectify error and his nomination was accepted. BJP Candidates did approach High Court and court has accepted ECI argument that "Article 329(b) of the Constitution states that no election, either to Parliament or a state assembly, shall be called into question except through an election petition. And that the election petition could be filed only after the declaration of the results." And their petition was rejected. So it's not first time that such incidents happening. Last time it happened was with BJP Candidates so there was no big hullabaloo in media.

BJP Candidates did approach High Court and court has accepted ECI argument that "Article 329(b) of the Constitution states that no election, either to Parliament or a state assembly, shall be called into question except through an election petition. And that the election petition could be filed only after the declaration of the results." And their petition was rejected. So it's not first time that such incidents happening. Last time it happened was with BJP Candidates so there was no big hullabaloo in media.
