The Scottish Red Ensign being flown at sea. That the SNP ScotGov has never legislated it as the flag to be flown on merchant marine vessels registered to Scottish ports is just another small but telling neglect of making a sense of nationhood visible.

Saltire will fly on the bow, the red ensign is for the stern.
