Deluzio: I introduced this Let Kids Play Act with Senator Murphy and some others to get private equity and vulture investors out of youth sports. Let’s start with the problem: they have turned youth sports into a luxury item. They’ve jacked up the cost for families. This is now like a $40 billion industry making money off parents who want their kids to play. So we go right at some of these practices in the bill. We’re trying to kick out these vulture investors. This isn’t just like some other part of the economy—we’re talking about youth sports, where there is a good and an interest that is bigger than just making money. Kids having a shot to play matters for society. It matters for the country. And I see these vulture investors, and I think they should have nothing to do with and be nowhere near making money off the backs of kids.

I don’t normally come on fb doing these types of things but I feel this is very important and serious to me so I need know to some types of information about these kids they parents or somebody before it be a serious problem! like ASAP, my brother doesn’t bother nobody get into anything nothing my brother is the sweetest person ever, bullying is not cool at all! and me personally I’m really to crash out so before that I would love somebody to figure out who these kids parents are before be a serious problem

You would be surprised how many times I’ve had this conversation 🤦🏻‍♂️ Not all AAU programs are equal. There are some good ones out there for sure. I benefited as a player by playing for a club. But then… There are some bad ones. And with the bad ones comes a lot of wasted time, money and effort. Empty promises when it comes to development and exposure to college coaches. Some kids on these teams can’t make 10 free throws in a row or dribble with their weak hand but we have them playing 80 games a summer expecting it to magically improve. Then they go back to their HS Coaches as the same player they were the year before but expecting different results. Now kids should make more time for their own skill work as well but some of these programs require 4-8 hours a week at their “practices” plus travel and games every weekend…. Have you seen some of these AAU practices? Skill development is non existent in a lot of these. But isn’t the point to make the kids better? Just get better every summer and have a great high school season then worry about getting recruited. Some of these kids are on their JV teams expecting to get scholarship offers 🤦🏻‍♂️ There are bad trainers and bad coaches out there as well. I understand that. This is just my perspective and experience with the kids that have been in the gym with me over the last 7 years.

Early specialization Combined with: Early intensification You got parents pushing their preadolescents' kids into playing and practicing one sport all year round and then, thinking they're getting a leg up, getting them involved in "performance" training at the same time. The problem is the performance training isn't run, hop skip and jump that kids really need, rather it's resembles the training program of a college athlete. We all know what happens with early specialization, but early intensification isn't as prevalent yet. But imagine an athlete never reaching their peak because they skipped right over all the basic training methods and went right into the advanced stuff too soon. What you get is stud youth athlete who fizzles out in so many ways down the road. Kids need need fun. They need movement, they need variety and diversity, and they need to be engaged. They need to run, jump, hop, skip, climb , crawl, and wrestle. Get that right, and you set the kids up for future success whether they're elite or recreational athlete. #LTAD

My heart hurts watching this. My kids are doing everything they are supposed to do. Working. Showing up. Trying. And still watching their hours disappear. Still stressed about things kids should not have to carry this early. What hurts the most is knowing it is not just them. It is their friends too. An entire generation trying to get a foothold and finding the ground slipping underneath them. I worry about them. About the pressure they are under. About the future they are being handed. They are not lazy. They are not entitled. They are trying. And I think every parent feels this right now, even if we do not always say it out loud. All I want is for them to have a fair chance. At no other time in history were kids raised to be so incompetent I'm noticing a growing divide in the peers of my kids (ages 11 & 9) Most of the kids who get very little screen time play music, are into baking, arts & crafts, hunting etc.. They are creative, have a healthy amount of self-esteem & are capable of basic life skills While most kids with phones who get plenty of screen time seem to mostly enjoy spending time on a screen They are consumers, not creators. They are into the latest tik tok craze & use language that 11 year old probably shouldn't use And many of their parents will talk about the child's anxiety or their behaviour medications like its normal A main goal of parenting is to prepare kids for the challenges of life To raise them with a variety of skills so they are capable of success Sadly this isn't happening for the majority of kids. Parents must be more intentional with what we are exposing our kids to

Believe it or not there are actually people out there like this, they consider eating out a luxury that they aren’t willing to share with their children. They go out and eat their full and have drinks all while the kids eat nothing or very minimally. If anyone out there isn’t willing to pay for a meal out for their kids, I feel they shouldn’t have kids, and that they are truly selfish people. I’ve been to places before where the parents have their designer clothes on, with tall beers and fat steaks, while their kids are splitting a small order of French fries. Should parents like this be charged with child abuse for psychological abuse?

Somewhere along the way, we convinced ourselves that earlier specialization meant better outcomes. More reps of the same skills. More drills. More structure. More pressure. But strong, fast, coordinated, resilient athletes are not built by narrowing movement early. They’re built by expanding it. Before worrying about a child’s shooting form, throwing mechanics, or position-specific skills, we should be asking: Can they run, jump, stop, and change direction? Can they balance, rotate, climb, crawl, and fall safely? Can they move with rhythm, coordination, and confidence? Athletic development is the foundation that sport skills are built on—not the other way around. Speed, strength, power, and durability don’t magically appear because a kid played one sport year-round. They come from movement variety, free play, and exposure to different physical challenges across multiple planes and environments. When we skip this phase and rush into specialization, we don’t create better athletes—we create fragile ones. Develop the athlete first. Then layer the sport on top. #LTAD

I can’t believe a person you would put your trust into, marry them, have kids with them and they can do this to you! And then have the nerve to get mad when we choose the bear. It’s really sicko and weird. Would you want this to happen to your daughter or sister or mother? I’m at a lost for words. For the men who say they are our allies, you have a lot of work to do. Men who get offended by this it’s because you know what men are actually capable of. Either you are them or so ashamed you don’t want to admit it. But it doesn’t stop it from happening. We tell kids to share but we keep everything for ourselves. This clip is a mirror. Are you actually doing what you tell your kids to do? This "kindness test" is a viral hit because it’s a direct attack on the adult ego. We watch these kids share and we get emotional. Why? Because we know we wouldn't do it. We’ve been brainwashed by a "Me First" culture to keep our own plates full at all costs. We think we’re "grown" when we get cold and calculated. We aren't. We're just becoming less human. Biology proves we won as a species because we were cooperative, not aggressive. These kids are showing us the original code we were born with before the world installed the "Greed" update.
