That’s so clearly a touchback but it’s Ohio state so they won’t call it

According to the rules no…but it’s his bday so we just give it to him

Yes. By rule 1) he never lost possession 2) ball wasn’t floating when he crossed the goal line 3) he re-established control and had a toe hit in bounds in the end zone

Should this have been an ejection?

He didn't fumble it out of bounds. Definitely a touchdown

Yes he had it pinned on his chest as he crossed the plane.

No. Juggling the ball while stepping out of the endzone is a touchback.

No, he lost possession and stepped out

He is a runner at this point in the play, he controls the ball while it breaks the plane of the goal line. Foot position doesn’t matter at this point of the play Touchdown Buckeyes!

No fumble out of the end zone for a touch back.

As a Michigan fan yes he already caught it just because you bobble after having possession doesn’t mean it’s a fumble

Absolutely not. He fumbled and never regained possession before stepping out. The rule book is clear, an unrecovered fumble that goes out of the endzone is a turnover. It doesn’t matter if you’re bobbling it, or it’s on the ground. This reeks of the league office calling down.

Makes me want to not watch. No control when crossing end line. Gets control and steps out of bounds. Touchback. Why can’t we listen to their reasoning on why the TD call is upheld? SEC can do it.

He had possession as he crossed the line

Yes, the foot doesn’t matter, because possession is established across the plane before the foot lands.

Yes! He never fully lost it. If he dropped it or fully fumbled then it’s a touchback. I’ll never get that 10 minutes back. What a wait off time.

It was a touchbsck. Foot landed out of bounds when he finally regained control. That being said...don't single cover Jeremiah Smith.

NO! HE LOST POSSESSION AND DIDN’T REGAIN IT AND THEN STEPPED OUT. RIDICULOUS!! RIGGED.

I’m not a fan of either one of these teams, but this was an obvious touchdown. He had control of the ball in the field of play. He crossed the goal line with the football. It’s a touchdown.

By rule no. Clearly lost it and regained procession out of bounds. But that’s also one of the dumbest rules in sports and it’s sort of like a ticky tack holding or PI. If it’s a score on the playground it’s a score in the game. I’m a Michigan fan so it sucks but not that mad
