Not a fan of either team, but not sure how this wasn’t called a goal. Puck was never covered

Um, y’all even watch hockey? This type of play has rarely been called a goal. It’s not a penalty for goalie interference it’s interfering with the goalies attempt to freeze the puck. Watch the replay he lunges then digs it out and through. Tough as nails and gritty but not a goal in 95% of the historical calls in this situation. The only reason there is a penalty is because of the challenge. It was a bad challenge but to be fair the Canes PP has been awful so I’m sure that was a factor.

Hell nah post real speed and share audio. Whistle blew, and that puck was covered for 2-3 seconds. Gtfoh

No goal- Vegas pushed the goalies glove so hard his stick flexed.

Puck is under the goalie's chest right here. The fact that Barbashev's stick is bending is evidence he's actively leveraging the goalie, not just poking a 6-ounce puck.

yes. the NHL is obviously compromised. if this was a Hurricanes goal it would have counted all day long.

In a league that is serious about officiating, then yes this is an obvious goal. Only people saying no goal are Canes fans (fair) and Vegas haters (also fair). But that’s a good goal (unbiased).

100% it should have counted. THE PUCK WAS LOOSE IN THE CREASE. Anyone who still thinks Vegas has the refs on their side, doesn’t watch them enough.

Afterwards Messier even said poking at the puck is standard and he got the puck out and in

ref lost sight of the puck and went to blow the whistle. as he was in the motion of blowing the whistle, the puck skittered into the goal. by rule the play is dead due to intent to blow

When the referee can no longer visually track the puck, a whistle is blown. Hockey 101.

Freddy never had it covered. Barbashev had the right to poke at it. Plus, Carolina had all the momentum. I liked it.

NHL wouldn’t want a sweep. Going to 5 or 6 games

Yes but refs fucked up, like usual.

Nah, you can't jam your stick in a goalie's face to poke the puck free.

Unlike the Vegas Golden Knights goalie, you can’t violently force this here

Yeah I think so definitely wasn’t goaltender interference. Maybe the whistle but not goalie interference

Not even a debate it’s a goal. The @NHL is actually retarded.

Whistle blew after the puck was in the net.

Profilbild von Joe Schmo

No, explanation should have been intent to blow the whistle though. The refs apparently ruled goalie interference which should have been overturned bc there was none. So it should have counted after their ruling was goalie interference. Shitshow as usual

Of course. Where is the goalie interference? Nobody knows

Vegas got a gift call on the blind no contact hip check and subsequently scored. Zero sympathy and Vegas should lose another pick for Torts postgame presser attitude. He will never change

sadly yes. this is what passes as DEFENCE in todays NHL. all those idiots on their knees, then again it is pride month.

It look like he poked the puck before it was covered, so I can’t see how it was interference. If the ref blew it dead because he lost sight of the puck I could understand that. If it was no goal due to interference Vegas should’ve won their challenge

This is just the NHLs way of making sure the knights don't sweep another series and they lose out on millions of advertising dollars. So many bad calls the entire game. But no.. Carolina deserves the win for taking the freebies for sure.
