The 50W rule is fully mechanical, so it has a real track record rather than a story. Four cycles marked on the chart is the sample though, what does buy below, sell above return versus just holding across those four?

Cute and simple, but BTC loves whipsaw around the 50W. If you're buying "below" you need a hard rule for how long it stays under + where you're wrong; otherwise you just average into chop until the real trend proves itself.

Simple strategy, but patience is the hardest part.
Simple on the chart. Brutal when every headline says it’s over and your feed is full of “dead coin” takes. The 50W MA is one of the cleaner mechanical filters Bitcoin has. The problem is never the rule — it’s sitting through the blue zone without folding, then actually selling the red zone when everyone is calling $200k by Christmas. Looks like we’re back at the line again. Fire sale starting, or just another test?
The strategy is easy. Actually buying when BTC looks dead is the hard part.
