This runner at second base tried to steal third base. The catcher throws the ball down to the third base girl, she applies the tag and the runner is called out. The coach wanted obstruction on the third base girl. The 3rd base umpire said no obstruction. They ask for the home plate umpire’s help but he sticks with the call from the 3rd base umpire. When you look at it, the runner had a clear path to the bag but ran high and slid into the third base girl when if she had gone in more of a straight line would have made the tag harder. She didn’t try to slide into the base but rather the fielder imho. I say no obstruction and the right call was made. You make the call.

hey if you're thinking about running qwopus (the claude opus distilled qwen 3.5 27B) as a coding agent, this might save you a few hours. i tested both the base and the distilled version on the same hardware. single RTX 3090. same prompt. same context. same everything. the only variable was the model weights. base qwen 3.5 27B built octopus invaders in 13 minutes. 1,827 lines across 11 files. zero steering. one scope bug that took 2 lines to fix. game ran. qwopus couldn't finish the same task. enemies overlapping on screen. bullets not firing. controls worked but the game was broken. i had to steer it multiple times and it still didn't produce a playable result. both run at 35 tok/s. both use thinking mode. the distilled version actually has better jinja compatibility and doesn't stall midtask like base does on claude code. for conversation and reasoning it feels sharper. but for multifile autonomous coding where the model needs to coordinate 10+ files without losing track, base wins and it's not close. distillation compresses reasoning patterns but seems to lose precision on complex coordination. the model "thinks" well but can't hold the full picture across files the way base can. tested on opencode (base) and claude code (both). next up is hermes agent framework on base. same hardware. same prompt. comparing agents now, not just models. video below. first half is the distilled model's broken game. second half is what base built on the same 3090. judge for yourself.

In early August, the 4th Special Forces Battalion and the 2nd Special Operations Battalion were tasked with capturing the Minusma base (UN forces, which were ordered by the Malian government to leave the country) and bringing in over a hundred FAMa allies with equipment. The base was located in an area where we hadn't operated before, and part of the region was controlled by JNIM* and FLA* militants. The march from the capital to the base took about 10 days, during which we withstood about 5 ambushes and repelled them without losses. I'll talk about the mission and the adventures during its execution later, spoiler: it was fun 🏖 The UN didn't expect us to wipe out all the Barmaleys and take the base so quickly. They also asked for help when they were leaving the base, and the Wagnerites covered them with fire. There was a battle for the base, as the Azawad shepherds also wanted to seize it. This is the most meaningful announcement I have been part of in the Base ecosystem, a journey I have been on since day one. As a content creator who later added the builder tag to my identity, hearing this announcement while building my TravelMint mini app made it even more special. Homeowners in this township we’re notified that they had to install a disconnect for their] electric meter base at a cost of $2500 so in the event of a fire the firefighters could simply throw the disconnect and cut power to the dwelling. These folks had an actual fire and a firefighter who no doubt was acting on his training, pulled the meter out of the meter base threw it on the ground and left the internals of the meter base exposed to the elements. I’m sure the letterhead that went out notifying the good people of this Township of this “necessary addition”kindly provided a contractor that would do it for them…sounds like a scam to me. You would think they would use an actual disconnect and not a breaker, that firefighter doesn’t have time to look at our wiring schematic🙄 Has anyone else heard of this ?

Qwopus on a single RTX 3090. Claude Opus 4.6 reasoning distilled into Qwen 3.5 27B dense, running through Claude's own coding agent (claude code). 29-35 tok/s with thinking mode on. the jinja bug that kills thinking on base Qwen doesn't carry over. harness and model matched. the base model would pause mid task on Claude Code. just stop generating. that's why i ran it through OpenCode, which handles stalled states automatically. this distilled version doesn't stall. it waits for tool outputs, reads them, selfcorrects when something breaks, and keeps going. i gave it a benchmark analysis task. went 9 minutes autonomous. wrote a README nobody asked for. zero steering. video is 5x speed but fully uncut. if you have a 3090, you can run this right now. free. no API. no subscription. opus structured reasoning on localhost. octopus invaders is next. same prompt that base qwen passed in 13 minutes and hermes 4.3 failed on 2x the hardware. i want to see if the distillation changes the outcome or just the style. more data soon.
