Since everyone posts Tesla's winning drag races, i'll post a real race between a Honda Civic that is an actual racer vs a Tesla. The average car at the drag strip will blow away any factory EV.

The average car at a drag strip isn't running a low 9 quarter mile. That civic will also break down before the Tesla runs out of battery.

Most of the cars i know run deep into the 7s and are street driven, clearly not daily driven because they're built with a lot of love and money. No one will ever do that with an ev in the future.

@cicohipe the average car at a drag strip is nowhere near 7 seconds unless it’s some specific event for cars in that kinda class. 9 seconds is fast, 8 seconds is incredibly fast.

@cicohipe Very true i was more referring to the pro Streeter's racing, the regular drag meet where people race Hyundai's and standard cars has no interest for me. The Holden nationals was the last drag event i went to and the average pass would've been a 9.0

When you go to a drag meet, with the pro Streeter's, not where stock cars are racing just to have fun, average times are easy in the nines. And the post is meant to be a bit of fun because the Tesla guys love posting their videos winning.

I've seen enough drag racing out-of-control mishaps that my real concern was for the little girl right off the track. I've seen many cars flip right over the concrete barrier.

Except the Tesla is completely stock off the showroom floor that anybody (with money) can drive home and the Honda is heavily modified by mechanics who know what they're doing. Apples and oranges.
