In many ways. His father was probably the greatest leader of the last century. 10% personal tax rate (eff). Limits gov bloat and welfare. Pay gov ministers commercial salaries, zero tolerance for corruption. Best Indian food in the western world. It goes on and on. The Emerald City.

Privileged people find joy in creating issues that don’t exist. Self labeling themselves as victims and feeling as though they’re striving towards something meaningful. Exhausting really.

his dad would have said this so much more coarsely.

Lee Kuan Yew transformed Singapore from a muddy hovel in a thriving metropolis by insisting everyone -- ministers and voters alike -- just not be stupid.

How can we create an impact if people get offended so easily.

In other words: stop being so sensitive and grow a pair. The world is not your day care.

Singapore gets so much right. The government understands the root causes of problems and implements laws with sufficient penalties to deter undesirable behaviors. Littering, the ban on chewing gum, feeding pigeons and stray animals. Same applies to gateway crimes. Well-calibrated legal measures and a low tolerance for “feels”
