I don’t think we’ve shared any rail install publicly, but it’s satisfying to watch. The rail isn’t affixed to the pipe and each joint has a tiny amount of allowable play. This lets it conform to the geometry of installed pipe all on its own. Install, maintenance, and replacements are a breeze. We spent a long time trying to make our system work without rails in the pipe. The robots could run just fine, but junctions, handoffs, and above ground infrastructure was tricky when your robot relies on a pipe to move. Now it’s trivial for us to run robots outside of the pipe, make custom turns, and integrate hardware into the rail and portals. I’m super glad we went this direction, it’s a no brainer in hindsight but that’s how system optimization goes.

Crews are moving quickly on a critical water feeder main leak in east Calgary. I’m out here on 17 Avenue S.E., just west of Cushing Bridge. This is an important pipe. It helps move water from west to east across Calgary and supports reliable water service in east Calgary. The good news is the leak has been isolated. There are no disruptions to water service for homes or businesses, and we haven’t seen any environmental impacts. Crews are out here right now, assessing the pipe and figuring out exactly what needs to be done to repair it. We’re moving quickly because we need this feeder main back in service before the planned Bearspaw South Feeder Main shutdown this fall. You’re going to see some traffic impacts here on 17th Avenue. One eastbound lane is closed, and there will be some pathway detours. Please slow down, follow the signs and give our crews room to work. I wanted to come out here and show you exactly what’s happening. As we learn more, I’ll keep you updated.

At the welding site of the HDPP (High Density Polyethelene Pipe) to be used in the world’s first-ever upcoming “Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion” (OTEC) plant at #Kavaratti #Lakshadweep. The pipe is uniquely structured to transport cold water at less than 8 degree Centigrade from more than 1,000 meter sea depth for convergence with warm sea water at the surface to harness the ocean’s natural thermal gradient to generate clean energy while simultaneously produce potable water for drinking.

Flew home out of Asheville today. Wanted to visit an area impacted from Helene. I know there are many spots still recovering that were severely damaged. This is from Biltmore. Most the city looked wonderful and back in business. This video represents a small area. But for me it was shocking. To see the unbelievable power of water. How high the water came up. And damages today like they just happened yesterday. In the video I said unbelievable a lot. That was my honest reaction.

🎥: At 2:17 p.m., Omaha Fire was called to a water rescue at Benson Park. A car went into the water and was fully submerged. The OFD Dive Team was called to the scene to assist. Crews were able to extricate one person from the water. A tow truck assisted in pulling the car partially out of the water. Medics transported the victim Code 99 (CPR in Progress) to Nebraska Medical Center. The victim was in the water for approximately 25 minutes.

The work at Adiyan Water Works Phase II Project is going on steadily as scheduled with the pipe laying at 98% completion. While there are some contingencies to smoothen out, the hard work continues to be done and in accordance to the project timeline with maximum efficiency. This project, a 320,000³/day water treatment plant, when completed, will supply over 70millions gallons of water to homes within the Lagos metropolis. In no time, houses across Lagos will have pipe borne water flowing yet again. This reaffirms the Babajide Sanwo-Olu led administration’s commitment to ensuring supply of portable water to homes in Lagos State in line with the THEMES+ Agenda. #CleanerLagos #AGreaterLagosRising

Motorists in Windhoek were left stunned after a group of Angolan street vendors were seen bathing and washing their clothes in public following a burst water pipe near the circle intersection opposite Hartlief and Meatco. According to Linda Katyoka, one of the individuals at the scene, the group noticed water leaking from the damaged pipe and used the opportunity to bathe and wash their clothes. “We did not know that we were not allowed to bathe there. NEW: 8-year-old girl drowns after getting sucked into a 1ft-wide pipe in a pool at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Houston, Texas. The girl was reported missing after her parents could not find her. Search and recovery organization Equusearch arrived and was dumbfounded about the girl's disappearance. The Houston Fire Department then inspected multiple pipes in the pool and couldn't find anything. The officers on the scene then went into the hotel and reviewed camera footage, which showed the girl submerging under the water but never resurfacing. They then drained the pool and stuck a pole with a camera on the end about 20 feet down a pipe in the pool where they found the girl. Her hand was the first thing that appeared "wedged" deep inside the pipe. According to investigators, the pipe malfunctioned and instead of pumping water out, it was sucking it in. "Many of us had to wipe tears from our eyes," said Equusearch founder Tim Miller. "I never, ever thought in a million years it was going to end up as bad as it ended up...there is a grieving family out there, and it is going to be a long, painful healing process over this one."
