I finally set up the GoFund me page by not using the word Sudan in the title and by putting the word S*dan with an asterisk. These are the hoops we have to jump through. Anyway, as many of you know, the war between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has been raging for over 14 months now. It has been devastating as part of the Sudanese diaspora to watch our beloved country burn to the ground and our people be killed, tortured, r*ped and starved to 💀. The humanitarian crises + widespread atrocities have resulted in over 10 million people displaced, making Sudan the most significant displacement crisis globally, with an additional 3 million people homeless due to previous conflicts, mainly in Darfur. Close to 25 million Sudanese are now in need of humanitarian assistance – including an estimated 5 million facing severe levels of hunger. My mum’s family is from Hillat Khogali, a village in Bahiri, a city in Khartoum State, lying north of Khartoum city, the capital of Sud*n. It is under UAE-Backed Rapid Support Forces control, and they have been terrorising our village for the last 14 months. For eight months of those 14 months, my father was in the town, seeing the crimes of RSF firsthand. They ransacked our home, beat him up and stole his car at gunpoint. But my father is one of the lucky ones as he has left Sudan and is now in Birmingham, UK, with my mum, sister and niece. However, our neighbours and friends from Hillat Khogali are not so lucky. They are stuck in Hillat Khogali with little money and even less food. So, we are trying to raise some money to support them and provide nearby villages with much-needed resources. I am running the Nairobi City Marathon on the 7th of July to raise awareness and money. I am teaming up with the Khartoum North Emergency Committee, which is already providing families with food parcels and medical supplies with very little money. They are fantastic but need more support to help communities across five areas: Hillat Khogali, Dangala South, Danagla North, Shambat and Sababi. All of these villages are in Khartoum North (Bahiri). Police in killed Sistrane Edwards, shot Cynthia Soileau in the face on a no knock warrant and arrested her son Vonteeko Anderson for defending his home. No knock warrants are a horrible practice and it continues to result in death. The cops pull up, kick in the door, and shots are fired. We don’t know who shot who. Police have no released body cam footage they have. Attorney Ryan Thompson (Ryan K. Thompson, MPH,JD) is representing the family. I’m asking you to help this family as they are now in the fight of their lives. I want to be clear, a search warrant that ends up with no felons in the home, a disabled member of law enforcement killed by cops in his home, his partner shot in the face, a cop deceased, and one pound of marijuana is the “criminal activity” is pure trash policing and a waste of resources. This is Louisiana, they’ve already told multiple stories. I’ll share more soon, do what you can. Thomas Andrew Dorsey, known as the “Father of Black Gospel Music,” lost his wife, Nettie Harper, and their newborn son, Thomas Dorsey Jr., in childbirth, burying them in the same casket. Grief-stricken and questioning his faith, he vowed to never sing again. But through prayer and support from his friends, he wrote the song about reaching for the Lord, even when sorrowful. Beyoncé recalled the first time she heard “Precious Lord” as a child, “My mother sang it to me and my mother played me Mahalia Jackson’s version. She sang the song with her eyes closed. She was a vessel, it was like God speaking, using her body to speak and to heal. My grandparents marched with Dr. King. And my father was part of the first generation of black men that attended an all-white school. My father has grown up with a lot of trauma from those experiences. Today we're launching the Kickstarter for Kento, the project the whole team at objkt has been building for the past year. Kento is a new category of collectible card. Physical cards, sold in booster packs, printed with holographic boards, hot foil and spot varnish. Each one carries a digital original by the artist, hidden behind a scratch-off panel on the back. We built it around the artists. Every artist was paid a commission up front, and every artist receives a share of each pack sold. Backing the campaign doesn't just support the project, it directly supports all 40 artists in the set. And what a set it is. It spans net-art pioneers like UBERMORGEN 🪢 ԅ( ͒ ۝ ͒ )ᕤ (making internet art since 1995, shown at the New Museum , SFMOMA and the Centre Pompidou ) and albertine meunier , whose work entered the Pompidou's collection in 2024. Today I have a huge surprise… I made a tabletop game! It’s the result of two years of design, testing, fine-tuning, laughs, and celebration. I collaborated with the incredible team at Exploding Kittens (Exploding Kittens), and it’s been play-tested by 100+ families and groups in multiple countries. Now, it’s finally ready for primetime. COYOTE! It’s an addictive card game of hilarity, high-fives, and havoc. You can learn it in minutes, and each game lasts around 10 minutes. But how did this all start? As a kid, Dungeons & Dragons was my best friend. It kept me safe from bullies and captured my imagination. Under the hood, it also taught me teamwork and—I honestly believe—made me smarter. Decades later, the game Poetry for Neanderthals made me laugh until I cried. I tracked down Elan Lee (Elan Lee), one of the world-class game designers behind it, and we did a podcast together. We’re similarly weird and quickly became close friends. It wasn’t long before I began to wonder: “Might I be able to make a game that’s simple and hilarious (like Poetry), but one that also makes you smarter and is hard to master (like D&D)?” Elan was an immediate YES, and… now we have it! COYOTE is now available at Walmart (or link in bio) online and in 3,200+ stores across the US. Watch it here : i am so thrilled to share an hour excerpt of the Cornucopia concert film here with you online . the full version will be played later in theatres . this has been a long journey with hundreds of people helping out . i am so beyond enormously grateful to every single one of them . i feel the modern concert film is a matriarchially friendly construct , welcomed in the current climate . where female musicians can share their worlds uncorrupted . in cornucopia , i was joined by musical director and multi instrumentalist bergur þórisson , percussionist manu delago , flute septet Viibra , harpist katie buckley and the hamrahlid choir . i spent last decade working with 360-degree sound and visual software in virtual reality and animation, creating Biophilia and later Vulnicura as a VR album. i was deeply inspired by the idea of a fully-immersive experience spreading Utopia and Fossora into fully surround speakers. my intention was to bring what we had created for 21st-century VR into a 19th-century theatre - taking it from the headset to the stage. this vision was realised with 27 moving curtains that captured projections on different textures and LED screens, creating a digitally animated show : a "modern lanterna magica" for live music. i also wanted to feature bespoke instruments: a magnetic harp, an aluphone, a circular flute, and a reverb chamber, specially built with an audio architect to enhance the most intimate version of a performance—in a personal chapel. throughout this tale, there is a subplot woven in: a second story of an avatar—a modern marionette who alchemically mutates, from puppet to puppet, from the injury of a heart wound to a fully healed state. i hope you enjoy it. warmthness, björk

Today, Stern Pinball, Inc., revealed Metallica Remastered – a technologically advanced version of one of Stern Pinball’s greatest hits. Metallica Pinball was originally released in 2013 and is one of the most successful and beloved pinball games ever. Metallica Remastered has elevated the game to the modern era with gameplay, electronics, and presentation improvements. I went on an indefinite break from VRChat world creation back in May, with the intention to explore other platforms/options. I won't be returning to VRC as a world creator anymore, the break from it is now permanent. So what did I choose? Standalone games for platforms like Steam. I plan to keep making games for PC VR first (with desktop/non-VR support too), as I fall into the group that desperately want more PC VR games that aren't held back by untethered/mobile VR parity. Mobile VR support will be considered after the pc versions are complete, if doable. How can I? if I don't like the growing complexity of vrc world dev? I'm using a standalone version of Cyantrigger and with the help of my close friends at Studio CyFi, & the transition has been really smooth to standalone. I think this is a key part of my choice and it not being an empty promise, as I'm not working in the dark here. If I need help with something (which is a lot) I have my friends to help me through it. Plus, I have access to everything game devs have the freedom to use like plugins/scripts from asset store. So do I have a project in development? Not yet. I'm in the R&D phase, learning lots of new techniques & aspects of coding to help in future projects. I am already at the stage that I can recreate everything I've done from my past worlds, so anything I learn now is completely new stuff I lacked the skill to do before. A big focus of this R&D phase is learning how to make more advanced NPC/enemy logic, since I want to do more combat heavy projects. 2026, whats the plan? I want to be more open with what I'm working on, sharing stuff I'm happy with and also stuff that I've found difficult so far, so you can keep track of my journey to making my first standalone game for PC VR. Look at this crucifixion. There are no nails. There is no blood, no wound, no crown of thorns. And you are not looking up at Christ, the way every crucifixion in history has asked you to. While imprisoned in Toledo, the friar had a vision of the crucifixion seen from an impossible angle, from above, looking down on the bowed head and outstretched arms, and he sketched it quickly. Nothing like it existed in the entire tradition of Christian art. Centuries later, Dalí saw a reproduction, and it stayed with him. Then, in 1950, he had what he called a "cosmic dream." In his own words, written beneath his studies for the painting: "I saw this image in color and which in my dream represented the nucleus of the atom. This nucleus later took on a metaphysical sense; I considered it the very unity of the universe, the Christ." In the dream he saw Christ hovering above the bay of Port Lligat, the little Spanish fishing village where he lived, and a voice said to him: "Dalí, you must paint this Christ."
