Smart cities 🤝 blockchain technology Bahrain recently unveiled plans for the world’s first blockchain-powered city. While it’s not built on #ICP, it highlights the growing potential of decentralized tech for urban infrastructure 🌆

1.) Not using ICP *as of right now* 2.) They can use blockchain & AI with their smart city. BUT if they want to put AI models ONCHAIN (at some point)- I’m not sure how else they can do that. Without something like ICP. 3.) ICP was just adopted recently by the 1st country for smart city infrastructure (Cambodia) 4.) Smart cities will face the same expenses and liability that come along with defending against cyber attack. And the risk will only grow. Along with the resources needed to solve for cybercrime. 5.) ICP *just* started moving forward with several key upgrades. Many of which optimize for AI onchain. And larger AI models onchain. 6.) ICP/Dfinity also has a partnership with the UN for Universal Trusted Credentials. And verifiable credentials will likely become a web standard through the W3C. And they have a native identity system onchain. This will be ideal for a lot of countries looking for smart city infrastructure. AI Onchain/ICP - is at the *very beginning* As of right now. For countries looking at smart city infrastructure. *IF* they ultimately want to put their AI models (that help power their city infrastructure) Onchain. Then ICP is currently the only network on Earth that can support this.
