Smart Doll Cortex can now run Windows XP! (Kinda) The ESP32-S3-based ATOM S3R by M5Stack is tiny enough, once removed from its case, to fit inside the upper bust of Smart Doll Cortex. We are preparing a dedicated ATOM S3R Bust together with a magnetic bracket that holds the... ATOM unit in place. The STL files for both will be released for free. Windows XP is just for fun, but the ATOM S3R itself can be programmed in C++ using the Arduino IDE to do considerably more useful things. You could give your Smart Doll a voice through ChatGPT or Xiaozhi AI, attach sensors such as cameras and environmental detectors, or experiment with practical applications such as fall detection and sending alerts when an elderly person at home may need assistance. Designed as a customizable shell for DIY enthusiasts, it allows folks to pair their Smart Doll with sensors, servo motors, and other modules, transforming them into an IoT-enabled companion capable of connecting to APIs like ChatGPT or IFTTT to control home appliances and more. For the first time, Smart Doll can truly live up to its name, limited only by the physical space inside and the creativity of those who dare to make it their own. There’s still work to do—like redesigning the spine to create more internal space for rechargeable batteries, modules, and servomotors. I’m also exploring motorized body panels that can open automatically—features that require retooling molds. While it’ll take some time before the release, I believe it will be worth the wait. I'm proud to introduce you to "MolDock Agent Swarm", which is my entry to the BSVA Hackathon ( MolDock is a molecular attraction testing system that uses smart contracts in BSV to verify the mathematics calculated by distributed agents who are testing drug efficacy. The swarm has a distribution agent that runs here on my PC, and a local agent that anyone can run by visiting If you start an agent and run tests, it should pay out rewards which are 100sats per test regardless of success or failure (between 50% and 75% fail) and if you succeed, you get an additional 10 sats per atom in the drug (15-50 atoms). The calculations for tests that pass are regenerated inside stateful smart contracts that track the absolute docking force of the atom for the full test (one cycle per atom in the molecule for each molecule in the docking location) meaning that for a molecule with 20 atoms testing a docking location with 30 atoms there will be 20 cycles of 30 rounds of maths. All the maths is calculated using script primitives, so there can be no cheating. I'm aiming for 1.5M transactions by thursday afternoon, so please jump in if you'd like to do some calculations.

I realized we needed a quick and dirty tutorial video showing how to attach the upcoming sofubi wig for Smart Doll. This is the third mold iteration. While there is still room for improvement, I feel this version is finally at a point where it can be released. As always, we still need to put it through a bit more testing and write the customary wall-of-text "why you should not buy this" post before launch. The wig is compatible with all Smart Doll heads, but please be sure to read the Before You Buy section before deciding whether it's right for you. One of the reasons we're exploring sofubi wigs is that the lessons learned will help us develop some of the more crazy anime hairstyles needed for upcoming licensed characters. Traditional fiber wigs are incredibly versatile, but there are some shapes that are much easier to achieve with a molded solution. Another benefit is that sofubi wigs are much easier to maintain than traditional fiber wigs. No brushing, detangling, or styling is required, which some folks may appreciate. Folks who don't like plastic hair, like the kind found on many figurines, probably won't like it. However, folks who don't like traditional fiber wigs may find this to be a happy middle ground. :-) #smartdoll #anime #bjd
