Eduarniel Núñez was claimed off waivers by the Cubs after the Orioles DFA’d him in early June. He spent a month in the ACL refining his arsenal before debuting for Iowa this week. His fastball is up ~2 mph with ~2” more iVB and HB. The slider is up 1.1 mph while generating an extra inch of depth. Small sample, but he’s an arm to watch. Racked up 11 whiffs and 4 Ks over 2.0 perfect innings tonight.

My guy Andrew Ronne is an undrafted free agent seeking affiliate opportunities! Ronne had a breakout season this year for ETSU Baseball , posting a 2.67 ERA with a K/9 of 10. I think this man would kill it professional baseball. His fastball topped out at 97.4 mph this year and sat around 94 mph. He can make the ball move any direction he wants with good velo. He has the rare ability to throw a true sweeper with 15" of HB and ALSO can throw the "death ball" curve, averaging -16" IVB and -3 HB. The four seam is cut-ride and he also has a true sinker. There aren't many people that can have success with a north/south attack AND an east/west attack like Mr. Ronne can. Weird is good. You can catch Mr. Ronne in the MLB Draft League for the rest of the summer. DM for more info!
