So I updated "Water" ! The sim is running in a single CPU thread. It should work faster now, rendering optimized & WebAssembly SIMD support! But seems like the speedup with wasm is only limited because of the heavily scattered memory access pattern 😇

The velocity needs to be constant wrt to frame time. The sim shouldn't slow down on higher particle count, the FPS should just lower.

Ideally so, but in this sim the spatial resolution is fixed and instead the view is scaled down. So physically you "just have more particles" in higher settings and nothing else is changed (except the boundaries). Have to subdivide time too when aim to a pure resolution increase.

Impressive! One question: Is it on purpose that it does not really behave like water? Can one tweak parameters to make it more realistic? OK, two qustions: Can it be extended to 3D? Thanks!

It's more like "ocean" than water considering all the parameters set. Maybe that's why you feel it a bit off. It's not on purpose, and increasing gravity would make it more realistic, at an additional computation cost. For the second question: Yes!

More internal optimizations on my #Dreamcast and #Gamecube game engine: • 2D Perlin noise generation is now 67% faster (59 cycles per sample) • 3D Perlin noise generation is now 40% faster (97 cycles per sample) • Further optimized worst-case heap allocations, bringing the total improvement to 40x since before my last post (yeah, allocations were that inefficient for a while) Perlin noise generation is one of the game's most resource-intensive functions. Here is a random performance test of WWE 2K18 running on the Switch 2 in Docked Mode. Full match between Bray Wyatt and Seth Rollins (CPU vs CPU) in the RAW arena. Essentially, the game runs exactly how it should have on the original Switch if it had been properly optimized and tested.

Updated my football sim with proper 3D rigged models, replacing the basic geometric models I had before. Had to get alot of the code refactored and still have issues with movement and direction of the players but on the right track! Only using a running animation for now, will update with others such as passing and shooting etc. Also had to simplify the stadium and lighting as it was causing performance issues - massively so on Mobile, but should be better now. Give it a play if you like!

Fully seated & housed in the case - the only reason the i/o shield is off is because I'm waiting for a water resistant mount to arrive. But yes. It works, and the squish fits.

In BFS you can simulate fluids in multiplayer. Because the simulation is deterministic, there's a bit of performance penalty, but there is still a lot of space to be optimized. The most important thing is that it works and brawling in water is quite a fun!

🚁🏚️ Okay so I asked Cursor to add FBX scenery of a city in ruins, which is a bit of a cheat code because the city is not generated by AI But instantly it looks like a real drone sim in a war zone, try scroll vid through the end Now I just need to add better lighting and collision detection and more stuff, and fix some bugs Very cool since I only started ~4 hours ago 😲 Way way faster progress than last year I think Also the scenery is like 300mb so I somehow need to fix that...
