So simple. So logical. So merciful. So true.

Purgatory doesn't exist, it's not in scripture. Don't even bother to try to make the case for purgatory to me, I've heard it all and I'm still not convinced.

No one asked you. 🤷♀️

Purgatory is an invention ment to cope with not having enough faith in the finished work of Jesus. As is the veneration of Jesus' birth mother. It's Jesus plus.

Purgatory doesn't exist

So wrong. Desire for sin, is sin. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin. If you believe that anything, including Purgatory, cleanses you from sin, you reject Christ's blood. The Galatians had a similar problem. They believed 100% in the sufficient atoning sacrifice (or Paul would have said so). However they believed that without obedience to the law of circumcision, they were not fully saved or in the covenant. Paul points out that this is an effective denial of Christ's atonement. And belief in that is to have fallen from grace. Belief that anything other than the blood of Christ cleanses you from sin, is to deny that the blood of Christ cleanses you from all sin.

My God sent his son to die and shed his blood to cover and pay for my sins. No need for purgatory as Jesus paid it ALL. Are you saying that it is possible to become sinless and thus escape having to go to purgatory? Or does everyone have to go there? Also I still can't find purgatory in the Bible anywhere.

And for the record - Purgatory (and praying for the dead) goes back to the Jews. Since the Apostles were Jewish - praying for the dead (so that they might be loosed from their sins - 2Macc 12) was just a common belief which carried along into the Church exactly the same way the 10 Commandments did.

So in other words, Christ's sacrifice on the cross and in the grave, and his resurrection, are not powerful enough. Weird way to admit it, but I'm glad you made it clear what you believe. Jesus died for me. That alone is enough. More than enough, overpowering

Christ already washed our sins away. Wjat need for purgatory?

But Bree, purgatory isn’t in the Bible. Did you know that?
