"You're so wasteful" "Soap cutting is just WASTING soap" I hear you! I've decided to listen to criticism and have since become more eco friendly. I now feed my family of 7 a delicious stew made out of leftover soap scraps. Nothing is getting wasted on my watch!

She never leaves home without her cloth bags. And every time she shops, 10 to 12 plastic bags quietly disappear from the world. For years now, Shyamala has carried her own bags to the market. Not as a statement. Not for applause. Just as a habit, she never dropped. When you pause and add it up, the impact is staggering. Hundreds of plastic bags are avoided by one person. Thousands of years. All because she chose to remember one simple thing before stepping out. This is how change often begins. Not with campaigns or posters. But with small, repeatable choices that feel ordinary, yet ripple far beyond us. A dog standing and playing with its owner when a young child suddenly approaches and begins hitting the dog with an empty plastic bottle. The dog looks startled and tries to move away as the child keeps swinging the bottle. Thought 💭🤔

Ever wondered what happens to old electrical cables?” A cable recycling machine cuts, strips, and separates copper or aluminum from insulation with high precision. Using vibration and air separation, it recovers valuable metals with minimal waste—turning discarded cables into reusable resources. Efficient, eco-friendly, and built for a sustainable future.

A very encouraging convergence of innovation and on-ground impact. Circato, a Bengaluru-based startup reimagining construction using net-zero, waste-reducing materials made from multi-layer plastic waste, gained attention at Shark Tank, where the panel was particularly impressed by the library built in Alolli, Chittapur using this approach. This is especially meaningful as Arivu Kendras under RDPR - Government of Karnataka continue to serve as spaces of learning and curiosity in rural communities and the application of such a unique, sustainable solution in Chittapur is proof that real innovation can find relevance, especially in rural contexts. Congratulations to the Circato team on a successful pitch and for delivering such a fantastic library for Chittapur. Paul Koshy

A heartening sight from Dhenkanal Forest Division as wild elephants, including calves, safely use the dedicated underpass while moving through their natural habitat. Such wildlife-friendly infrastructure plays a vital role in ensuring safe movement, reducing risks, and strengthening human elephant coexistence. #odishawildlife #dhenkanalforestdivision #humanelephantcoexistence #elephantconservation #wildlifecorridors #safepassage #odishaforestdepartment

What if I told you that the “waste” you throw away today could become a school chair, a playground, or even a new outfit tomorrow? Every plastic bottle, glass jar, metal can, old carton, worn-out clothes, and used tyre has a second chance—if we choose to recycle instead of dump it. Imagine a Lagos where fewer drains are blocked, flooding is reduced, streets are cleaner, and waste creates jobs instead of filling landfills. The next time you’re about to throw something away, ask yourself: “What could this become?” Small actions from millions of people can transform an entire city. ♻️ Which item surprised you the most? Plastic, glass, tyres, or clothes? Tell us in the comments and tag someone who needs to know that waste is wealth. Babajide Sanwo-Olu Gbenga Omotoso Gboyega Akosile Bajulaiye Olanrewaju Barr. 🇪🇸 The seabed is entirely covered with discarded shoes and dirty underwear left by illegal African migrants who invaded the Spanish enclave of Ceuta With more than a thousand illegal migrants still remaining within the Spanish borders of North Africa, wet clothes, shoes, undergarments, and plastic packaging have accumulated on local beaches like El Trampolín and Tarajal as the migrants discarded their personal trash into the waters.
