The reason most stuff you watch on Netflix is forgettable is because you aren’t doing any work. When you watch a movie, you are given all the visuals. The soundtrack even clues you into how you should feel in each scene. But as Life of Pi author Yann Martel shares, this form of kidnapping makes for forgettable stories: “I binge watch Netflix like anyone. But when they supply too little for you to imagine on your own and they give you everything, they’re forgettable. You haven’t worked enough for it. Which is why books can be so powerful because it leaves so much for your imagination. A movie doesn’t do that. The more you withdraw, the more the reader has to come halfway. They like being engaged in co-creating the story.”

Unpopular 🌶️ take but it's time we call it out and tell the truth! Entitlement is a cancer. So many wonder why we’re losing great coaches, leaders and struggling to find quality ones. No one wants to deal with this level of nonsense. Entitled parents are teaching entitled kids that they can whine, complain, and manipulate their way into what they want. But that’s not how life works. The best players earn their spot that’s how it’s supposed to be. Don’t like where you stand? Work harder or move on. Because in college and especially in the real world you can’t just call the coach or your child’s future employer and demand they get a position, scholarship, or job they didn’t earn. Accountability builds character. Excuses don’t. And it’s sad, because these parents aren’t helping they’re robbing their kids of the opportunity to build confidence and resilience through hard work. When you step in and do it for them, the message you send is: “You’re not good enough on your own.” But the truth is, they’ll never know what they’re capable of if you don’t let them earn it. You are not the thoughts you think. You are the thoughts you believe. So don’t believe the lies in your head telling you that you aren’t enough, you should give up and your future is hopeless. Those thoughts aren’t coming from you and their goal is to make you feel weak, powerless and discouraged. Fear divides and negative thoughts weaken you. But the good news is that love unites and positive loving thoughts strengthen you. That’s why it’s so important to speak words of encouragement and love to yourself. When you tune into the higher positive frequency instead of the lower negative frequency you win the battle of your mind.
