If you look at the cost of solar power five years ago, 10 years ago, or 20 years ago, it would have seemed cost-prohibitive. But the cost of solar power today is extremely low. The cost of batteries to store that energy has also dropped dramatically. Battery storage costs have fallen by a factor of 10 in the past five years. So many of the studies that were done were done in times past, when batteries were very expensive and solar power was very expensive. I would just encourage everyone to take another look at the cost of solar and the cost of batteries. I think you’ll find that you’re pleasantly surprised. Elon Musk

Albanese has no mandate for Net Zero, for he won the election through deception. Albanese deceived Australians about the cost of Net Zero. He lied by claiming that under Net Zero, electricity prices would be cheaper, when in fact, Net Zero is causing electricity prices to skyrocket. There should be a national plebiscite on Net Zero after an honest debate about its true costs. Intermittent renewables are to an electricity grid what COVID injections are to the human body—the more you put into the system, the greater the damage you do.

Solar and wind are sold as cheaper than coal, gas or nuclear using a number called LCOE (Levelized Cost of Energy). But LCOE is a junk metric. It is reliable, dispatchable, and produces virtually no CO2 - yet many environmental groups oppose new dams. The same contradiction appears with nuclear power. Nuclear produces zero operational CO2, runs 24 hours a day, and uses far less land than wind or solar. If cutting emissions were truly the priority here, the focus would be obvious: Hydropower and nuclear, not endless wind and solar expansion.

Yesterday in South Australia, the wind stopped blowing and the state nearly ran out of power. Prices spiked to the maximum cap under law, and it would have cost someone in Adelaide nearly $5 just to boil a kettle. This is our future under the net-zero delusion, blackouts and unaffordable power bills. South Australia was meant to be the example for the rest of Australia to follow on wind and solar, how's that working out? It's time to ditch the net-zero nonsense, build coal and nuclear and bring down the cost of living for Australians.
