Solid lane changing is a key FSD issue in China, as shown in this video where the driver intervenes. Is it serious?

Since v14, FSD has this weird obsession with moving from the inner lane to the outer lane during a left turn. For me, it happens on every two-lane left turn. And it does it in a very jerky, dangerous way — even if it means cutting in front of another car, FSD will still insist on doing it. Is this because FSD is more afraid of hitting the curb at the corner than of getting rear-ended by someone else? This really feels like a serious bug to me. I’m not sure whether it’s because the model is overfitted to avoid curbs during turns, or because it was trained to always end up in the rightmost lane after a left turn. I honestly don’t know, but I really hope this gets fixed soon.

With all due respect sir, It is clear that the left most lane, where a motorcycle is seen in the video from the design unveiling ceremony, is not there in the actual bridge. In the actual bridge, this lane is probably narrower than planned, leading to its conversion into a walkway. May be this is what the Speaker was talking about ? 🤷🏻‍♀️

In Belgium, you’re legally required to stay in the right lane on highways when there’s no traffic. Many drivers ignore this and hog the middle or left lane like seen in this video and yes, you can get fined for it. Tesla FSD does it perfectly: it automatically merges back to the right when the lane is clear. Overtaking on the right is strictly forbidden (with even bigger fines)

I’ve noticed a new behavior in FSD version 14.2.2.2: when approaching an intersection from a single dedicated left-turn lane, the car occasionally completes the turn into the second lane from the left rather than the leftmost lane, which is what most drivers typically do. Interestingly it is legal to do so in California.

To everyone saying it was because of the adjacent car: FSD started hugging the lane divider line well before the adjacent car failed to stay centered in their lane. Trust me, this isn’t a one-off occurrence, it’s either a feature or a bug. Unless you’re a distracted or poor driver, you don’t ride the lane divider like this.
