Tensions are rising along the Aden-Lahij-Taiz south western corridor near Bab Al-Mandab strait as some Southern Resistance commanders lobby to ban northern units from the National Resistance Forces and National Shield Forces to enter the south fully armed. The issue is already creating friction on the ground. Some northern forces attempting to move south have reportedly been detained, with their weapons seized. The dispute comes as National Resistance Forces regroup following the collapse of the West Coast front, raising questions over where these forces will redeploy and whether southern factions will permit armed northern units to operate from territory under their control.

This woman who is a military officer from the 1st Brigade of #SNA has announced that she has "joined the opposition forces" in Mogadishu as fierce clashes erupted between pro–Villa Somalia forces and those backing the opposition. The officer said: "After the peaceful protesters were disrupted by force, I decided to take up arms." Heavily armed forces continue to deploy across many parts of the Somali capital tonight amid rising tensions and ongoing confrontations. The security situation remains volatile as Mogadishu faces growing uncertainty and the risk of further conflict.

The operation also destroyed five boats militants were using to flee across the Juba River, disrupting their movement and supply lines. The advance cleared the way for Jubaland government and SNA forces to secure the strategic town, which links Jilib and Jamaame, as well as nearby villages including Baladurahma, Manamufo, and Muganbo. Camsuma lies about 28 kilometres from Jilib, Al-Shabaab’s main stronghold in the region. Speaking at a weekly press briefing in #Ankara, Aktürk said Turkish support is focused on strengthening security and stability in Somalia. He noted that Turkey is providing assistance to protect drilling activities and the “Spaceport and Test Firing Range” under construction, as well as supporting counter-terrorism operations carried out by the Somali National Army. Aktürk said the Turkish Armed Forces will maintain a strong deterrent presence through ongoing support and deployments in Somalia. Naval elements operating in the Gulf of Aden, off the Somali coast and in the Arabian Sea have conducted port visits to #Mogadishu. A delegation from Turkey’s Naval Forces Command also recently visited Somalia to review ongoing activities and military cooperation between the two countries.
