Somalia is close to finalizing a deal with Pakistan to purchase a number of JF-17 fighter jets. The agreement is estimated at around $1 billion and represents the largest military deal for Somalia in decades, in a move aimed at rebuilding its air capabilities after years of weakness following the state collapse in 1991. The package includes pilot training, logistical support, and maintenance. The aircraft are from the advanced Block III variant, a multi-role fighter jointly produced by Pakistan in cooperation with China. The deal was facilitated with support from Saudi Arabia. Somalia has also signed a maritime transport cooperation agreement with the Kingdom, under which Saudi Arabia will invest in Somali ports after Somalia canceled all military and commercial agreements with the UAE last January. 🇸🇴🤝🇸🇦

So does anyone still doubt that the UAE is deliberately blocking every port it controls in Somalia in order to boost Berbera?
