Someone can sit in a boardroom and approve such a plan on an already narrow busy road serving Nyali , Bamburi and onwards even Mtwapa Vipingo +++ Links Road is already too narrow for all the traffic due to all the new apartment blocks. A plot that used to house one residence suddenly has 80 apartments which means 100+ cars . Who needs a flower bed on a major road busy commercial street, links Road is now a commercial road. There is already a pedestrian lane then someone in his wisdom decides to place concrete flower beds ostensibly they think they are beutyfing the place. The stretch of General Mathenge Drive between Mpaka Road and Ring Road Parklands was dug up three years ago. It has remained in this state, and is worse when it rains. My inquiries with Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) indicate that the road has been earmarked for re-carpeting, and that the contractor is currently at 3rd Parklands Avenue moving towards it. The delay is inordinate, and there is urgent need now than ever before, to complete the repair of the dilapidated road.
