Some controller players in The Finals are getting backlash as they are enabling stick drift in Steam settings to always have aim assist enabled. Something that is also done in Apex Legends Do you think this is unfair or should be allowed?

I personally think there should be no configs on either input. Mnk= plug in and go. 800 dpi. Find your sens. That’s it. Controller= any IN GAME SETTINGS. NOT Steam or any other OUT OF GAME settings. If it’s not in game it shouldn’t be allowed imo.

seems like an exploit to me I don't blame people for using a feature in the settings, but I do think games should take note of how a setting like this can be used to exploit your aim assist

MnK players have it easy they should just stop crying, get better, and adapt.

Aim assist in competitive games should not exist. Separate PC and console players. Aim assist is unfair and gives a significant advantage. MnK players do not have the privilege to stick to a player like a magnet not only that it take skill to be even good at it same goes for controller players.

A computer is already aiming for you regardless. The issue isn't with this work around lol

Is this the same thing as configs on Apex?

Controller shouldn’t have aim assist in the first place, they need to add gyro if they want controller to be a viable input that’s fair, and even then imo, the inputs should be separated in ranked play. It’s almost 2024 guys. Controllers should not be meta in an FPS game.

this should be banned. WE NEED INDUSTRY STANDARDS around Aim Assist, controller, and keyboard in general. So every new game doesn’t have the same issues of “AA over powered” “this game doesn’t have native deadzone settings” “this game doesn’t let me set my cm/360” shooters suck anymore because devs make more money off of us fighting each other than actually making a solid and balanced competitive shooter that both inputs and fairly thrive on

it's stupid that you can automate ur aim-assist activating requiring even less skill to use, never should be allowed to do this in any game

For those confused: aim assist does not activate unless you are moving your weapon. By enabling stick drift, you are purposely always moving a slight bit so when someone is near your reticle the aim assist is always active.

I don’t think people understand how weird it is to play without aim assist on a controller

Controller player with the "YOU HAVE YOUR WHOLE ARM" but will try to get as much aim assist as possible at ALL times.

They should make it to where enabling steam input disables aim assist. I play that way anyway. I play with mouse and controller at the same time.

Can't speak for The Finals player base, but I don't understand the necessity for crossplat with PC on big games like COD/Apex. Matchmaking shouldn't be an issue with the huge player bases. I play 6 year old PUBG on console without issues of matches not populating consistently.

funny how so many controller players think stick drift is bad. in apex you get stick drift by turning your deadzones to 0 in the game settings and it acts as the input to trigger aim assist.

There are so many streamers/pros/creators using 3rd party cheats, exploits and cheese right now it is just gross. Part of this lies on developers being slow to act. There really needs to be a harsher penalty on pros/creators doing this shit.

i genuinely think mnk is such a superior input on this game is might not matter rn. maybe in a couple months

People who are saying this is an exploit. Clearly, don't realise that this can be achieved by putting the deadzone to 0 in any game. Controllers are not perfectly centred. All this does is activate the aim assist. The problem is the aim assist itself. Specifically rotational

playing with AA is harder cause i don’t have control over my aim, it’s harder to guess how it’s going to aim for me. Meanwhile kbam has full control over their aim so it’s easier

Issue with the game, not players. If controller players can be get free aimbot prescribed by the devs why wouldn’t they use it? Sim assist is a plague.

These games have gone to shit. It's not the players fault. These are the types of games they're creating in 2023. They want this. For engagement. It's so artificial and broken but no one is going to call it out bc they're too busy using the crutches to toss them out.

This is another reason I have gone away from shooter games!. If you need an assist why are you even playing a shooter for!.

Iga Swiatek on constantly being filmed at Australian Open and other tournaments, ‘The question is, are we tennis players? Or are we animals in the zoo? It would be nice to have some privacy’ “I wanted to ask something that Coco was talking about last night. The cameras backstage at the tournament… I know you got filmed recently forgetting your credential… you’re sort of always on camera at a lot of different tournament areas.. I’m wondering if you think there should be more privacy for players and their teams as they’re back there? Or how you see the balance of that versus them trying to have entertainment and content coming out.” Iga: “The question is, are we tennis players? Or are we animals in the zoo? Where they are observed even when they’re pooping. Ok, that was exaggerating obviously, but it would be nice to have some privacy. It would be nice also to have your own process and not always be observed. For example, in other sports, you have some technical things you wanna do. It would be nice to have some space you can do that without the whole world watching. On Wimbledon there are courts where people with accreditation can get there but it’s without the fans. There are some tournaments where it’s impossible and you’re constantly observed. I don’t think it should be like that because we are tennis players. We’re meant to be watched on court and in the press. That’s our job. It’s not our job to be a meme when you forget your accreditation. It’s funny for sure. People have something to talk about. For us, I don’t think it’s necessary.” “Have you talked to the tournament about it here?” Iga: “What’s the point?” (via Australian Open Press)
