Down on the Farm: Big night for #Reds 2020 1st round pick Austin Hendrick. The 24-year old doubled, collected two hits and threw out a runner from left field. He's batting .333 with a .906 OPS in five games since being called up for his Triple-A debut. It's been a six year grind, with a lot of struggles for Hendrick. Really cool to see him finding some success.

49ers training camp practice #2 is in the books. Here are some of the highlights: 🏈De'Zhaun Stribling is getting OPEN — catch-and-run house call from Mac Jones with those long 4.36 strides... The rookie also created separation down the seam on a ball Purdy overshot. Stribling caught a nice one from Purdy on an early rollout 🏈New CB Jack Jones has looked spry, but Ricky Pearsall cooked him on a double move — Jones misfired but that was some "wow" separation. Purdy later hit Pearsall for what might've been a catch-and-run TD 🏈Excellent Renardo Green leaping PBU 🏈CMC has a lot of juice to begin this camp. Jordan James got most of the work behind him early in this practice, but the back half featured more of rookie Kaelon Black. He had a muscle-on-muscle collision with Marques Sigle early 🏈Ji'Ayir Brown notched an acrobatic diving INT off a shorter pass from Purdy, who bounced back immediately with a chunk gainer to Mike Evans. Even with Christian Kirk (calf strain) sideline, the 49ers' WR corps already looks worlds ahead of last season's 🏈Vet CB Eli Apple, entering Year 11, notched a pick 6 off Kurtis Rourke on a pass intended for Junior Bergen. Rourke rebounded with a nice seam shot to Jordan Watkins for a long gain, and then Rourke and Bergen bounced back with a long TD connection to end practice that fired up the onlooking first teamers 🏈Fred Warner looks like Fred Warner. Whenever he makes a nice stop near the media, Warner pretends to tweet with his thumbs to ensure his nice plays are noted 🏈Trent Williams, who just turned 38, is much more buoyant than I remember from previous camps. Steve Smith Sr. was in attendance for the Texans and Panthers joint practice. He spent a good amount of time with Christian Kirk after things wrapped up. Talked to Kirk afterwards and he told me that’s his OG and he was giving him some game.

Christian Wilkins was on the field early in OTAs, last seen here on May 22. He would no longer be present at practice amid a dispute with the team over whether or not to get surgery after a setback in his recovery from a Jones fracture suffered last season. Now he's no longer a Raider.

A few notes from day 1 of #Saints camp: - Short practice. Heat not a factor (that'll change) - All the non PUP players were in action (a few roster spots still open). Always a nice thing at this stage. - Rattler took 1st team reps (Shough will get 1st team tomorrow). Low-key practice in general. Rattler looked the most composed out of the three. Best throw was a layered ball to Olave on a deep dig. - A lot of designed QB runs today - Shough looked like a rookie getting into 11s for the first time -- some tough moments (a couple would-be sacks). The good news is that's exactly what he is. I expect him to settle in quickly. - We saw some combined drills. WRs working with RBs. TEs working with LBs. Just a practice tweak. - Jordan Howden got first-team reps next to Justin Reid. Will be interesting to see what happens when Blackmon shows up. - Haener had a couple nice balls to Michael Jacobson. Depth TE roles are suddenly very interesting to watch. - RB2/3 is very much up for grabs. Sounds like it'll be a rotation from day-to-day. Devin Neal got some work with the 1s. - Blake Grupe kicked today, went 5-for-5 (longest from 49) ... some decent left to right wind

Day 6 notes - OLB Tuli Tuipulotu participated in one 7-on-7 rep but did not take part in the remainder of team drills, marking his sixth straight practice with limited participation as his contract situation remains unresolved. - LT Rashawn Slater left practice and spent time in the medical tent before not returning. After practice, Justin Herbert said Slater wanted to get back on the field and was in good spirits afterward. - The offense came out sharp, with Herbert completing his first eight passes before S RJ Mickens broke up a pass. HOCKEY FANS. After a 5-point weekend, the nation's leading scorer (41 points) is now the Freshman, Ethan Wyttenbach from Roslyn, Long Island. The #Flames 5th round pick in 2025 played in the USHL last season and is lighting up the NCAA. He turns 19 next week, and to me was without a doubt the steal of last year's draft. I spoke with Ethan last week, and that interview will be out later today on the USHL channels.

Wild day. From a rollover after sending it for pole in qualifying, the Bak40 Motorsport crew worked their magic and got us back out just in time for the heat where we snuck out a win. Another P1 in the semi had us lined up outside front row for the final. After some hard racing and a last lap pass, we walk away with a P2 to end the rollercoaster ride for today. 🔥 Another full round ahead of us tomorrow, ready for it 👊 📸: Nitrocross

The Bondi affair! They want you to believe that Naveed Akram was some random ki!!er with no professional training who could successfully fire off 4 rounds from a bolt action in 5 odd seconds! And despite all of the noise, he had superior eye coordination with the sight, steady gait, trigger action & reflexes of a sharp shooter. For some reason his name was also trending in Israel the day before the alleged affair on Dec. 13th. His friend says his background is Italian and Indian! And apparently he has foreign military experience.

At long last, RHP John Holobetz (GG #14) is headed to Triple-A Worcester. Finally some statcast data — that sinker will turn some heads. The 23yo has posted a 2.70 ERA/2.13 FIP with a 0.90 WHIP and 30% K-BB rate over his last five starts (23.1 IP). He started the year off on a scorching hot note, cooled off a bit, but has now found his groove again. K% and SwStr% are up a ton this year but cStr% is a tad bit down. I’d like to see a 30% CSW rate in AAA. Velo is up. Moldable clay in the arsenal. High floor thanks to his strike-throwing ability. Holobetz is another metric darling arm. I’m super pumped. Top 10 prospect in the org right now (meaning next update, post-deadline).

This is Brown Bunny. I call him “The OG” sometimes. I told Charlotte that he arrived at our doorstep from Bunnyland before she was born, carrying a blanket and some snacks. He told us he was here to wait for his best friend, Charlotte, and from the day we gave him to her, they’ve been inseparable. Like the Velveteen Rabbit, he’s been well-loved and the years are definitely showing. But he’s the best Brown Bunny a little girl could ever want and he’ll be with her for as long as she needs him. “That was fun, but not as fun as tackling people.” Preston Lobliner had these words of wisdom after his first day of kicking camp with James Wilhoit. Without any training, he was the only kid in his league last year who could kick extra points, and that was HUGE since they are worth 2 points since nobody does it. With Middle School Football upon us, we are excited to see him contribute to his team as an accurate and powerful kicker and an all out DAWG on offense and defense. This was 30 yards, and after this camp and learning how to actually kick, I expect to hit 40+ by the time the season hits. Also the best news ever for us, he is starting back in wrestling next week daily after injuring his elbow at practice the day after winning state so we will start working on that 3rd state championship! SUPER PROUD of this kid!

For those who don’t like Blockie, I’ve got one for you that might change your mind: At the 2023 PGA where his life exploded, I followed him for ESPN in the final round (the one where he made the hole-in-one) and had the chance to speak to him on Sunday prior to the round when he was paired with Rory. Both he and his lovely wife Val gave me almost 20 minutes of their time and were so open and honest and offfered so many amazing stories I used on the air. No other person who was in his position with everything on the line would’ve done that. Nobody. I have also had him (and his son Dylan) on my podcast for Silver Club Golfing Society soon after that PGA and I didn’t have to jump through any hoops with his agent or anything. I even played a practice round with him at the ‘25 PGA Professional Championship and he couldn’t have been nicer. We all want athletes to speak their mind and let us in, and when they open up and say what’s on their mind they get ripped by social media. I don’t see the reason for the haters. My experience last have been nothing but 100% positive. Blockie is a star in my book.
