Again. Smith machines are bad cause they aren’t natural movements. But wtf ever

zero information conveyed.

Another one not using the safeties on a Smith Machine. Epidemic 🫣

Right 🤣

Siatica inbound

Lifetime injury. PT consult on the way.

It never felt right to squat on a smith machine for me. It put my back on a weird angle.

My sciatic nerve hurt watching this.

This is actually a worthwhile lesson to learn. I had this happen a few times and it caused me to look into how to properly do a squat. Which led to me finding out about shoulder retraction, neutral spine, and many other things I was unaware of.

It's unfortunate to learn that way but it's definitely something people must be aware of. I think getting caught up in the idea that you might have the ability to squat very low it causes you to overlook the mechanics of the squat. Mechanics is everything

Why did she raise up on her calf like that ? Lol

She had the ability to squat deep, because she did it, she didn’t need the stability, because the bar is fixed, when she came up she popped up at the top with an anterior pelvic tilt and put a lot of pressure on her lower spine

That tuck at the bottom range caused it .

You can’t be a gym person without coming across some injuries.

There are few of the lucky ones okay tapped their potential with no injury. Could be luck could be genetics or it could be attention to detail and skill.

You can’t be a gym rat without ever getting any form of injury. Its like saying someone got lucky and rode a bike on his first try without ever falling or hurting himself. You will injure yourself one way or the other as long as you are consistent and opened to diferent exercises

Smith machine strikes again

I have noticed a lot of people have weak lower backs.

Always suggest ppl to hire a trainer

I'm not concerned with the ROM. I'm concerned that they're squatting on a smith machine. Get on a real squat rack, not a smith where you're in a fixed/unnatural position.

🥱 this is not about working out. It’s about spreading cheeks in front of the camera for validation and engagement.

Whilst these are good points, it has nothing to do with the problem here. Smith machines are terrible for doing squats because the bar path is fixed. Your body is forced to work with the hardware, not the other way around. Free weights are safer because the bar isnt constricted

Never barbells squatting after herniated disc injury.

🤣🤣🤣

Smith machine, video over

good inoformation

I guess I gotta work on not having my neck around the bar. Been doing it for years. Thanks

So.... what did she do wrong?

I wrote it in the video. Pay attention.
