#WATCH | Jammu, J&K | On the Hindi language row in Tamil Nadu, Union Minister Ramdas Athawale says, "Hindi is our national language because we have a huge Hindi-speaking population. Only Tamil Nadu and Kerala don't have enough people who speak Hindi... The problem in Tamil Nadu is that not enough people speak English... I request the people who speak Tamil, that they are not obligated to speak in Hindi if they don't want to, but don't oppose the language vehemently."

If you’re not fluent in Welsh just yet, talking up our language can be just as important as learning it!

Watch: Learning Hindi won’t erase Tamil. It will open doors. ~ Vijayakanth, a famous Tamil actor. The propaganda by certain political parties says “If we learn Hindi, Tamil Nadu will lose its identity and turn into Hindi.” This fear is used to oppose learning the language. Tamil is our breath, our pride. But learning other languages is also important. Our brothers and sisters in Delhi and Mumbai learned Hindi to earn a living and support their families. Learning Hindi from childhood can open opportunities. Yet today, DMK is placing restrictions on Tamilians learning Hindi and spreading hatred towards the language. Tamil is like a mother for Tamilians, and Hindi is a mother for millions. Both deserve respect🙏🏻

Educators deserve stable, accountable leadership that supports their work and puts student learning first. Our new legislation will establish qualified roles in English-language school boards and represents an important step forward toward greater consistency in our education system.

He is Senior Kannada journalist Ranganna! On Amit Shah’s statement that Hindi should be a learning language in every state and a national language, Ranganna made it clear: “Hindi is not the national language. We, the Southern states, should not accept Hindi imposition.” 🔥👏 A strong voice for Kannada and linguistic equality. ❤️💛 #StopHindiImposition #StopHindiDivas #HindiDiwas

Dear Pinarayi Vijayan Many Malayali children are struggling to study an UNNECESSARY language like Hindi, which is made a COMPULSORY third language in schools across Kerala. Kerala GOVT should adopt a 2 language policy (Malayalam and English) with the 3rd language as OPTIONAL.

TN CM Thiru M.K.Stalin hasn't realised that his attempts to divert the misgovernance in the State to a non-existent Hindi imposition haven't appealed to anyone in TN except a few paint-dabba-carrying folks. However, Thiru M.K.Stalin seemed to have missed this speech by his party’s General Secretary. It is him pushing Hindi. The NEP advocates for a three-language policy, with any Indian language as the third language. Our question has remained simple: Why do you have 2 different rules in the State? When a private school student is provided the opportunity to learn a third language, why is it deprived of our Government school students?

This govt school student articulates the problem clearly: When rich kids studying in private schools have option to read a 3rd/4th language, why are our choices closed completely by the government? If you learn a 3rd language, they can't do politics ma😭

As a Marathi I don’t oppose simply Hindi language. I oppose the pathetic culture which Hindi brings in Maharashtra. Hindi speakers are the most senseless community in India.
