Someone vibe coded a 3D city where every GitHub developer is a building. It is called Git city where more commits means taller building and more repos means wider base. Light windows shows that you were active recently. You can even fly through the entire city and find your... building just by searching your username. And honestly, this is what vibe coding actually looks like at its best.show more

Hey, founder here! Thanks for sharing this project. I’m building this in public, and it’s also an open source project. Let’s go 🚀🫡

Great to knowing you, keep building cool stuffs :D

My building looks so sweet. I love it!

This is such a cool interface for contribution data. Would love a filter layer too (language, org, timeframe) so teams can use it for hiring + open-source discovery, not just visuals.

what's the use case for this?

@zacxbt another 3d cook

This is pretty insane!

yes it is cool

This is what Lagos feels like

This is genuinely so beautiful! Exactly why open-source communities are magic — one dev's crazy idea turns into a whole glowing city that thousands get to explore and call theirs.

Why don't I get cool ideas like this :(

Super cool but sadly a ton of accounts are heavily automated, some reach 400k+ contribs/year 🤷‍♂️. Even 30k seems barely humanly possible. Rankings are gonna be wild

Give this AI and THIS IS TRON !!!

@ScvrletFox

the commit activity as window lights is a nice touch

@openfangg looking forward to checking out the construction 😄

I’m homeless

This is awesome! gotta check it out in more detail. @samuelrizzondev would pretty cool if we could get it as a widget we could embed in a portfolio website

@Scobleizer Cool! Aww my github building is still a shack...lol

@grok explain to me like im 5

cool, but commits are a noisy flex metric. prs merged better?

Love seeing stuff like this. Totally agree, the time it would have taken to do this manually is mind boggling

It is showing that I cannot find my username because it is limited to 10/hour??

Git is now just a Claude DB with admin controls by MSoft.

great. bullshit built from useless data noone needs

Is there a subway in that city?

@santre_wala

Let’s connect

confused i have like atleast 4k plus contrubs this year alone. its broken

this is how internet should be in 2026 imho! Let go of the traditional website structures and make the "internet" more kind of infrastructure instead of a phone book. Love it!!!

this is probably one of the coolest things this year honestly

This is insane. I want to fly through that city

Y ese edificio es mio!! Jojo

who is the someone? can we know who the hard worker is so we can support and follow also suggest some major improvements and utility. this is some minecraft optical crap. why did we see no download, uploads, commits.. just dancing?

Kinda useless but cool. Sign of the times and indicative of vibe coding I guess. Kudos to @samuelrizzondev nonetheless!
