No one at a cocktail party is going to say, "Yeah, I can't actually read..." Illiteracy is not acceptable, but innumeracy is kind of cute. And frankly, we don't have a word for it, but the inability to understand what science is and what it's not, and to track scientific arguments, to see rhetoric when it's being used as if it's science... That's just not, it doesn't even come up for these people.

Olympian Amber Glenn has spoken out about supporting the LGBTQ+ community under the Trump administration. Glenn, who identifies as pansexual, recently announced that she is taking a break from social media following backlash for speaking out against the Trump administration. At a press conference for the Winter Olympics on February 4, Glenn said: "It's been a hard time for the community overall under this administration. It isn't the first time that we've had to come together as a community and try and fight for our human rights." She continued: "And now, especially, it's not just affecting the queer community but many other communities. And I think that we are able to support each other in a way that we didn't have to before. And, because of that, it's made us a lot stronger."
