Something keeps hitting me over and over watching the documentaries about 9/11. Beyond the aching sadness and the tears I can't stop shedding for the victims, their families, running as a sickening undercurrent is the full understanding that we had (and lost) our world that day. We lost our... innocence along with 3000 people, rather we had it ripped from our hands by Muslim terrorists along with all those they murdered and scarred that day. This was our world; this was the solid, dependable world we'd all grown up in. Some had grown to peaceful old age in. And the shattering of that world has never stopped. Today the new Muslim mayor, who shouldn't even be in this country (we're not supposed to give citizenship to avowed communists after all) signed executive orders about 9/11 remembrance. He handed the pen off to his head counsel, a Muslim who has literally defended al Qaeda members. The wrenching pain of losing that world is not the wrenching sadness of reading about the victims. I cry buckets for those we lost that day. The world we lost? I'm angry about and I want it back. I'd claw my way through anything to get it back, too. 25 years later, watching that city wrecked anew, from within, with no regard for the America we were is turning out to be a nearly unbearable experience. It is hard to believe that 25 years have passed since September 11, 2001, a day of unimaginable tragedy that forever changed America and the world. This week, as we mark this solemn anniversary, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives taken from us, and we honor the extraordinary courage of the first responders who ran toward danger, many making the ultimate sacrifice so that others might live. We also honor the generations of American servicemen and women who answered our nation’s call in the days, months, and years that followed, and all those who continue to stand watch in defense of our freedom. On September 11, 2001, I was a cadet at West Point, watching the attacks unfold and realizing that the world we were preparing to enter had changed forever. We knew that our nation was at war, and that the oath we had taken would soon carry a very different weight. Twenty-five years later, I still carry the lessons of that day with me: The fragility of freedom. The extraordinary courage of ordinary Americans. If you're wondering where the generational split we have today comes from, it's largely because of 9/11. There is a sharp dividing line between those of us who heard the news of a first plane hitting the north tower of the World Trade Center at 8:46am and thinking it was a small Cessna that crashed, then heard the news of a second plane hitting the south tower at 9:03am and understanding that we were under attack, then hearing the Pentagon was struck at 9:37am and understanding we were at war, and then watched with total shock as the towers collapsed live on TV. Those of us who experienced that day and were old enough to understand the symbolism of what had happened also understood that the world would never be the same – and it hasn’t. Those of us who spent the next week glued to the TV with tears in our eyes watching desperate family members walking like zombies around New York holding up signs of their loved ones searching for any drop of information about the people who had vanished into thin air will never forget the horror of the day that changed the world forever. Those of you for whom 9/11 is a history lesson that you watch on YouTube will never understand what was truly lost on that day – starting with the innocence of the greatest country in history – which is why so many of you are willing to tear it all down in the hopes of building a failed utopia that every time has been tried has taken down millions of people with it. That’s why those who see 9/11 through the eyes of its attackers because they experienced it as a TikTok trend after reading Bin Laden’s letter are so willing to give the reins of power to those who sympathize with Bin Laden. The world is divided between those who experienced the apocalyptic horror of 9/11 and those who were too young to have any sympathy for the victims, so they blame their government instead of the perpetrators who committed mass murder. Those of us who were there and watched the horror unfold in front of our eyes will never forget what was lost on that day, or the pain of tens of thousands of Americans and nationalities from all over the world. Those of us who grew up in the 90s felt it was boring at the time. It was full of angst, had no meaning and was considered “the end of history.” If only we knew what a blessed decade it was. May the memories of all those lost 25 years ago today forever be a blessing. We will never forget them.

Many have said that the differences and divisions in our world are too great for us to come together for the common good. But the Summit of the Future showed that with a spirit of dialogue and compromise, we can join forces to steer our world to a more sustainable path. As this year’s #UNGA activities wind down, we must remember that this is not the end. It is in all our interests to choose the future we want and to guide our world towards it. The journey continues. I wish the church was taught more about the spiritual reality of our world, and the spiritual war that we are in. We are not okay, and that’s okay to say. I wish I could tell you that we are standing here and that the rest of the world is standing with us. With you. Sadly I can’t say that. There is a loud and aggressive minority around the world who doesn’t get, that being murdered at a peace festival does not equal resistance. I do however, know that we are standing here on behalf of all those people in the world, with moral clarity. And there are a lot of them. And there are many who want to be here with you. And they are here with you at heart. On October 7th, your loved ones went to Nova. We call it a peace music festival because that’s what it was—a place to make new friends, to let loos explore and celebrate life. And this juxtaposition hurts the most —because on that day, the light your loved ones were, was met with the most unimaginable darkness. Our lives will never be the same. But today, as we remember them, we also make a promise: to honor their memory by living as they would have. As we stand here in grief, we have a message to the world: we will not be defeated. Israel was attacked on October 7th and every day since, for the crime of existing. For the audacity of just being here. But we are here, and we are here to stay. Here's the message for the rest of the world: the younger generations of Americans, we don't want war with the world. We want peace. We desperately want peace between all of our nations, we want good trade, we want to have good business deals, and we want to be able to visit your countries and you come visit ours. 🐈‍⬛: first of all, i think our upcoming 8th mini album is going to be out really soon… as all the members said, we’re really confident about it. i wanted this to be the highest point of our career at this moment, and i believe this album is going to do that for us. 🐈‍⬛: and after that i think we will just keep going on with the world tour. we only just started. this is our second or third stop here in the us and latin america, and we still have a long way to go and a lot of things to do. 🐈‍⬛: the only thing i can say is that everything’s going to be AMAZING

🐈‍⬛: first of all, i think our upcoming 8th mini album is going to be out really soon… as all the members said, we’re really confident about it. i wanted this to be the highest point of our career at this moment, and i believe this album is going to do that for us. 🐈‍⬛: and after that i think we will just keep going on with the world tour. we only just started. this is our second or third stop here in the us and latin america, and we still have a long way to go and a lot of things to do. 🐈‍⬛: the only thing i can say is that everything’s going to be AMAZING
