Don't be a dumbass, Tony. My wife has MS and would fail at every one of those slide techniques but has no problems pulling a trigger on a revolver.

You only have to rack it once and leave it chambered

Silly for you to think this would have ANYTHING to do with my wife. My Ruger Vaquero Reliability > Wilson Combat 1911 Reliability

ShortShot Tony's profile picture
ShortShot Tony2 months ago

You give your wife a ruger vaquero to carry? Are you on a ranch? Or am I reading this wrong?

LOL. . . she would love one!!!! (In the wild lands of Missouri) But seriously you are right. That argument is silly. Women can run an auto.

ShortShot Tony's profile picture
ShortShot Tony2 months ago

I was gonna say, could I be your wife if youre giving away Vaqueros? 🤣

She EDC's a Beretta Storm but she loves the full sized CZ 75. Any notion that she couldnt run an auto, or that any woman couldnt is laughable looking at my wife of 5' 6" or my daughter of 5'1' and 100 lbs soaking wet. Both can.

For most women, the problem isn't the strength to rack a slide, the problem is the increased complexity of a semi. Simple truth is many women aren't going to practice regularly & revolvers are simple. Simple is better for people who aren't gun enthusiasts who practice regularly.

ShortShot Tony's profile picture
ShortShot Tony2 months ago

Let them shoot both and then decide. Something they cant be accurate with shouldnt be carried. Racking a slide and leaving it alone forever is not complex

nobody461's profile picture
nobody4612 months ago

She has tried both, doesn't like manipulating a semi. Just wants something to point and shoot if someone is trying to drag her out of her car. Everyone doesn't need to be a highly trained gun enthusiast to have a gun for protection and comfort and simplicity have their place.

The funniest summation of this argument I have heard is "if you can't teach her, put the stick in the hole and pull the top, then you shouldn't be giving anyone advice." Solid video

Honestly thank you for saying all that. I've known a handful of women who were turned off from shooting because of dudes not listening to what they were looking for, and insisting on revolvers or .380 anything instead, because "9mm is too much". That mentality has gotta go.

Paul Allen's profile picture
Paul Allen2 months ago

Telling WOMEN who are new shooters that they can rack a slide with their belt is extremely negligent and if 20 listened to your video, at least 5 would blow their fucking kneecaps off.

ShortShot Tony's profile picture
ShortShot Tony2 months ago

Am i Telling Or am I just demonstrating that they dont have to rely on grip? Heck theres even an air rack in the video dumbass 🤣

Paul Allen's profile picture
Paul Allen2 months ago

You're telling them they don't have to rely on grip and then presenting several dangerous alternatives without any safety warning. I know calling people dumbass is like your brand or whatever, but what i'm saying is actually pretty reasonable.

ShortShot Tony's profile picture
ShortShot Tony2 months ago

Grip strength as little to do with it unless youre assuming they need to rack for every shot. Leave one chambered always. I dont call people dumbass, i say Dont be a dmbass, unless the person is being a dumbass 😀

Paul Allen's profile picture
Paul Allen2 months ago

Again, retard, the initial chambering of a round by WOMEN who are novices with firearms and safety (the target audience of this video) via racking on the belt is dangerous. If you shoot yourself on the initial loading of the chamber, there will not be opportunity for cycling ammo

ShortShot Tony's profile picture
ShortShot Tony2 months ago

Again, retarded, its to demonstrate that its not difficult to rack a slide. You pull the trigger on a revolver it goes bang, you pull a trigger on a semiauto it goes bang. They follow the same safety rules dumbass. Are you that retarded?

Paul Allen's profile picture
Paul Allen2 months ago

Those safety rules being that you encourage female novices to point muzzles at their feet and legs attempting to rack a semi-auto. The "same safety rules" are correct, but you do not pinch a revolver between your calf and hamstring because it is unnecessary and risky, esp to noob

ShortShot Tony's profile picture
ShortShot Tony2 months ago

A demonstration of one handed use... where do you think a noob is going to perform a one handed action? Heck even with a revolver? 🤣 dumbass. You are the only person who thinks this video is a tutorial like an idiot 🤣

I’d imagine the people who give their wife a revolver don’t carry one in the chamber themselves… It’s the same misguided “logic”.

only case for revolvers besides preference that i could make is it having less moving parts so a lot less complaining about "i can't figure out how it works so i'll just quietly stop using it" which women so often like to do

The wife has carried her S&W LadySmith for at least a decade and it’s become reliable and virtually maintenance free companion for her. You’re trying hard in your anti-revolver campaign but you’ll never dethrone the boss of ages old reliably and durability. Revolvers are here to stay.

ShortShot Tony's profile picture
ShortShot Tony2 months ago

I dont have to dethrone it, its already been dethroned years ago 😁 as long as your wife is more proficient with it than other platform then theres no issue 😘

Sickofit's profile picture

lol, says who? A revolver will always be in my loadout.

ShortShot Tony's profile picture

Okay, I’ll go take a look at currently available revolver platforms, including Henry, and buy another. Thanks for the inspiration. 😉

This kind of sexist FUD lore has made me hate revolvers. They are antiquated and inferior on every level to a semi-auto in every metric outside of strawman arguments

I love how Nick the nobody expects a lady can't rack a slide, but is able to keep the gun on target and pull through a double action trigger without horrific sympathetic motion, not a single one of those shots are gonna be on target, his baseline is Women are weak and can't learn

Only issue that I might see is new gun woth stiff/strong return spring. But with enough work/learning and proper grip everyone could be able to rack the slide. But there are some people that have weaker hands because of illness/frail build/others and then revolver would be an opt

Problem women are weak both my daughters and ex wife cannot fucking rack a slide at all meanwhile my son racist the slide on full size 1911s and bigger

ShortShot Tony's profile picture
ShortShot Tony2 months ago

Bigger guns in the same caliber typically have lighter springs. Its all about technique. Also wives dont listen to husbands so send them off to someone else!

Rexy's profile picture

True but in my experience pocket pistols are there hardest to rack but my son still racks those whereas any girl that has a hard time doing it because they're females that's all there is to it that's why there's pop open Chambers

M&P Shield 9mm is very difficult to rack. So much so they made a "girl" version that is easy. I agree though that they should be able to do so.
