It's cool. But the issue is that the result is arguably too much code from using "no code" 🙃 It could be a basic <ul> with CSS scroll-snap. Then the buttons use JavaScript's Element.scrollIntoView 🤙 Instead, it's <div>s, JS powered animation, and not a <button> in sight 🫠

This little die in GitHub Copilot app cured my decision paralysis. IMO it is a concept worth learning from. When your app offers a vast array of choices, users can easily become overwhelmed by decision paralysis. Providing a selection method that appears low-pressure and entertaining is a great way to significantly enhance the overall user experience.

This is direct desktop capture, no OBS! This free VTube Studio plugin renders your model on a transparent window. I found it's pretty handy to have an always-visible model preview while rigging. Setup is very simple, it just works. And it's very light to run.

I feel this. Esp annoying when your .env is missing in a worktree. To mitigate this in my Warp setup, I made a custom tab config that auto-symlinks .env files from the main directory whenever I make a worktree. It's been saving me a lot of time

Just so you know, the old UI is still in the files and they can easily revert it with a simple hotfix.

Cursor position and color uniforms are now available to custom shaders in Ghostty, enabling cursor animations (and other effects). Video below is a rough demo of something simple. Can't wait to see what the custom shader community does with this. :) Docs:

herdr 0.7.0 is out, and it's a major one: it introduces plugins! the idea is simple: herdr stays lean, and everything custom gets extended through plugins. shareable, scoped, built however you want, to fit your own flow. with this release we're also shipping a few examples of what the plugin system can do. first up: a telegram plugin. herdr already controls your agents and knows their status, so the plugin just hooks into agent events and pings telegram the moment one needs you. notification lands → `herdr --remote` or ssh from your phone → straight back to the agent that needs you.

Generative AI is really cool but sometimes you want to drift your car through an intersection in a super specific way. Draw a spline then get 3D onion skinning so you can adjust the curves with a clear spatial reference. iCars plugin for Blender:

The gold standard fluid interactions on iOS are built using in-process client animations (like SwiftUI does it) and not render-server animations (like CoreAnimation does it). This is common knowledge inside of Apple’s UI framework and system experience teams. A close inspection of iOS’s evolution reveals the gradual upgrading of system experiences written using render-server animations (that often disable user interaction) with ones using client animations (that are interruptible and interactive). The app switcher for iPhone X, the Dynamic Island, and Liquid Glass bars are prime examples of this trend. The other thing that makes these experiences feel so fluid is their use of spring animations that preserve velocity, rather than Bézier curve easing functions. To get velocity preservation, you need to be able to interrupt a spring animation and retarget it or drive it with a gesture. That’s a lot easier to do when the animation is running in the same process as the event handling. When we were first pitching SwiftUI, two of our go-to demos were a recreation of the iOS 9 navigation and Home Screen interactions which were fully interactive and interruptible, at a time when the actual implementations of those experiences in the OS disabled user interaction and ran server-side animations. CoreAnimation is great and the framework does much more than animation. You can build a fine app using its server-side animations. But if your UI framework can’t do efficient main thread client animations, there’s a ceiling to the quality of the experience your app can provide.

A Lean Six Sigma certification will cost you around $1,000. If we're going to be about this tariff thing, it's one of the best investments in yourself that you can make right now. Re-shoring is an extremely painful process, but it's worth it. Add value.

New in Brave for Android: Custom search engine support! 🔎 You can add new search engines, or sites with search, at Settings -> Search Engines. Now they'll appear as Quick Search options when you start typing a query into the address bar.

Lots of custom-written SVG here! Each block is just a simple React component w/ props for position, dimensions, colors, etc., so there's a lot of flexibility in what we can do with them.

Here's a fun one with Seedance 2.0 You can just tell the model to end with the first frame, so you can create looping videos without using first/last frames, a feature especially helpful when using the Omni variant of SD2. Generated in CapCut with early access. Prompt below (it's a big one):

Added three new buttons to my library among 22 other buttons. Made in Webflow using custom CSS. Maybe we can make it a Free Button Friday thing but I can't do it alone 👀 It's a cloneable. Link is in the comments.
